tbh, better like that than coming with github statistics or links, as I said, noone, asked for.
-- (Julitka):
We told you our arguments, as you told us yours. Then you wish to stop the discussion. Isn't that a shamy walkover? Does it mean you have no more reasonable arguments? :)
-- (Jonathan):
@rudolf Just let them talk, it won't help to discuss about such topics, they will always find arguments, and if they don't have good then its github. We are just going this way because pajper can't answer on questions about the forum and facts, so we need to talk about something we find arguments for, I'll start talking again if yall are able to speak without thinking that every single word against the programm is a insult to the dev, but its pretty sad how the council is trying to support each other with arguments and stuff noone was ever asking for.

But they're important in the discussion. You said Ruby is not popular. You have a proof it is, so you'd like to close this discussion. Shamy walkover, as I said. :D

Well, I said that when it is so popular, why don't you help him then? Why do we then just have one dev? Why do we have so many bugs noone is fixing?

Criticism of the choice of programming language only indicates that the people commenting do not have sufficient knowledge in the subject, sorry, but this is the truth. The same argument has been going on for years and it doesn't matter.
Elten is a big project, in the programming sense. It consists of dozens of components, abstraction layers, interfaces, and so on. If there is a lack of knowledge about programming attitudes, design patterns, and so on, there is no chance that these people will get involved in the development of Elten simply because they lack the appropriate experience.
Therefore, the choice of programming language does not matter here. Programmers will be flexible enough to write something, while people with less knowledge would not have enough knowledge regardless of the language.
Shoot for the Moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

because it makes fun to make little projects in bgt and the other programming languages are kinda to large for myselv.
-- (Julitka):
Well, ekhm, so why do you learn it? Just for fun or the prestige of knowing any language? Wouldn't it be much more useful to know C, Python or that "shamy" Ruby instead?
-- (rudolf):
um, um... bro I just say nothing anymore to this topic/to the discussion about bgt besides that:
bgt is a programming language. it's outdated and only for blindis so it has no ranking on github because to less users are using it because there also sighted users on github. *sighs
-- (Julitka):
Pajper, can you please place it in the ranking you showed us?
-- (rudolf):
lol bro it can? only because it is outdated that means not that it losts it's status of a programming language.
-- (Julitka):
BGT unfortunately cannot be counted as a real programming language. :( Sory to say.
-- (rudolf):
I know how I google something. anyways. like I said already, I am slowly learning bgt and I have tbh really no patience to learn now also rubi. and also, I heard that only from a user in a group. that means not that I also agree to it. just saying.
and what you mean with that? "Ok, that's a very good argument."

xd I'm not a programmist. I won't learn any new language, no matter if it's Ruby, Python or Cotlin. I must help as much as possible, by helping the charity i am a member of, by fixing social problems, by being a member of the Council etc. There are many people who name themselves programmists. Why giving some titles is all they do is not my fault. :D

I appreciate the sincerity and understand you totally. But if the only language you know can be BGT, it's quite risky to talk about much larger projects and languages from the perspective of a programmer. Cause you are not yet a programmer.

like I said already. I am the opinion, that bgt can still counted as an bgt programming language because there are a lot of projects still in it. sure, some projects are going away from BGT like golden crayon, sulvive the wild and so on, but that not means that BGT is no programming language anymore. sure, it will die at any point but maybe is already dying, but in any cases, I think a user who can speak bgt, a programming language, can be counted as programmer. and no, I don't think that I am a programmer since I am, like I already said it, learning it. so, yeah.

Well, and again at least I am not saying that I am a programmer or have a big knowledge, but you can't say just because you don't know a programming language, you know nothing about development or making such platforms, and still this is not the topic we are talking about, it should be about the future of this programm, of this forum etc, and we came to that discussion because, ah whatever, doesn't matters obwirsly.
#310 Julitka
And, goin away from the argument about Ruby's popularity, it makes no sense to recode everything from the scratch. You know why?
There were some users declaring they'll involve in coding Elten API. There two or three of them. Regarding user's opinions and willing to have someone to cooperate with, pajper each time started a new project in a new language. These two users quited just after two or three months. So, an evidence is clear enough. :(

Before in this conversation was allready sayd that games and programms/platforms like elten can't be compared, so I honestly don't see your point here as well. compare bgt and c, and not because c is more popular, it also just has more functions.

Well, then you should know with who you are and can work, and if they are trustable or relliable. I mean just because in the past we had bad experiences, we can't stuck with ruby for ages. I mean sure we can, but then please don't wonder about incoming bug reports.

All in all, the lack of knowledge is again visible. A programming language has no so called functions, it is just a language. That's all and that's it.
Pure C can't even write on the screen.

I've never said BGT is not a programming language. :) Read carefully, please. I can say it cannot be counted as a real programming language. It does not figure in the ranking mentioned by pajper at all. Not even at 100 place or whatever. So, if Ruby's 6 or 7th place is a problem, what's funny, we shouldn't talk about BGT at all. And that's fully ok for me if you want to code in BGT. But that's kind of another league, lets call it so.

But bug reports are good to develop this programme. Personally, if I were pajper, I would appreciate them comming in a respective way. With logs and so on. Fixing them with such data would be much easier and possible at all.

bro comeon, I want to say with that that you have way more options, I mean bgt can't even rename files, can you get down from the mood uh I use every wrong placed word to tell people they have no knowledge about programming?
