I can definitely confirm that Narrator is much better at dealing with the Task Manager.
I will not go so far as to say NVDA updates are useless. Current Braille tables are a must for people who have Braille displays, as I do. That's just one example.
Ok, I don't use Outlook so can't comment on that. I use Thunderbird. But wouldn't it seem natural that microsoft's screen reader works best with their own products?
Will do. All I can say for now is that NVDA can become awfully unresponsive. -- (hozosch): Well, just try with one, and then the other, and see for yourself! Latest windows 10 build.
They give plenty of notice to give add-on developers enough time to fix their add-ons. The last breakage was very brief. The add-ons I use were fixed pronto.
There are a lot of Microsoft-related fixes in NVDA. I use Thunderbird as well. Changing tabs has to be done with object navigation but other than that NVDA works very well with Thunderbird.
Also, I found out this morning that if you control tab to the details tab in the Task Manager, NVDA interacts properly there. Yesterday I tweeted NVAccess and asked him how to better interact with Task Manager and that was the tip I received this morning.
Yes, we know that's *your* opinion. Isn't it just great to have a screen reader that can be messed up so easily to the point it won't even start up? # ZDSR. Oh yes, it's so great!
How's that possible? Please explain so we don't do that. -- (hozosch): Yes, we know that's *your* opinion. Isn't it just great to have a screen reader that can be messed up so easily to the point it won't even start up? # ZDSR. Oh yes, it's so great!
And if you uninstall it, the thing leaves other chinese programmes on your computer which you don't even need at all and you don't even understand them. Or at least, my experience was this.
I may not be a technical master, but there are far less experienced people than me. I can't remember now what I did. I just tried to use some TTs, for example sapi 4, German via voice. And then, this thing suddenly stopped to start. You know, I kept switching between ZDSR and NVDA. But that's wellfare, you do say that the paid versions are better. If I could pay with my sim card credits I'd be able to afford it I guess. Reinstalling didn't help either.
I had a similar problem but unintentionally fixed it by having to reinstall Windows and everything from scratch due to another problem. Anyway, have you ever installed a SAPI5 version of ETI Eloquence or anything like that?
I do have a sapi 5 version installed now, but it's, erm, unofficial. Yep, I'm sure too doing what you did there will fix the issue. But I'm too lazy to set anything up again.
And this is why. If you use the BHP cracked version of Eloquence then Zhengdu won't start normally. There's a workarround for that but if you use cracked software find it yourself.

It took us damned months to find the issue for this crash and when it was finally been found all methods to fix it have been abandoned, as this applies ONLY to th cracked Eloquence.

By the time I had this issue, the sapi 5 version wasn't installed. I used a via voice sapi 4 version. And I don't see why I should pay for a software which isn't developed anymore for 19 odd years.
