I didn't really say I had seen anti-Chinese propaganda by you. And I did agree with you on most matters. I just don't want this debate to evolve into a West versus China one. -- (chrisstefanovski1): Where did you see anti chinese propaganda by me? I just gave my opinion about the constant labeling of nv access as Thieves. I demonstrated a free version of Zhengdu screen reader to a group of blind people at the blind association of my town, and everyone agreed that there should be some collaboration between them and nv access, if we want to make a true competitor to Jaws. That were about 20 people, and I don't believe that even 5 percent of them know about nv access and their funding strategy. Nuno, although you hate nv access, consider that such a collaboration might result in a very powerful screen reader which might be a true competitor to jaws. And collaboration doesn't mean stealing technology. Btw, how can you obtain free Zhengdu? The welfare one I got is so slow and poor in features.
Then this should apply to all the other paid screen readers, including JAWS, revolutionizing screen reading. You know, taking all the shared data and applying it to an open-source, common screen reader would be incredible. -- (chrisstefanovski1): Well, I believe that accessibility shouldn't be a secret. If they do something what no one else does, they should share it.
Exactly my point. I'm not an apple fanboy, but I see that they take ideas from major screen readers and implement them in voiceover. I know it sounds silly, but I see a bit of jaws and nvda in voiceover, like snippets of the ways both readers work, in the whole workflow of voiceover.
But OSX voice over seems to deteriorate with each version. They implement stuff from NVDA, JAWS, Narrator, without having any understanding of how this software operates, and so the operation seems more inconsistent

Well, I can definitely confirm that voice over has similarities. Probably the most striking thing I noticed is how similar navigating with voice over and NVDA's object navigation are.
Plus, doing anything more advanced on a mac than browsing web is just extremely ugly IMO. OK, Reaper works kinda well but its just because of the OSARA extension.

There's garage band for mac which must work better I believe. Although I never had a mac, only tried it a half year ago but that was the only time I saw one of those laptops.
Its a Chinese screenreading software with many intereesting and unique functions. you can get it from http://www.zdsr.com/download-down-type-zdsr_pw.htm Keep in mind that this is a demo and so not all functions are available.

I downloaded and installed the public wellfare edition of zhengdu, but when I choose open help from the help menu, it opens the documents folder on my computer. What can I do to learn more about this screen reader and where can I find it's manual?
