I just messaged him, and hope he'll reply soon. In the meantime, whenever there's something that's been requested and which is to find on this site, I'll post direct links.

Many thanks...
I think the site already has much more than I want, but all I wish is that I can know what is what and what does what. Then I can browse and try the things that interest me.
So for now, I think I have already downloaded most of the things that I know. And those that I don't know, well, I already don't know what they are, so I don't know what the site has and what it does not have, and thus I don't think I can request anything right now.
Still, thanks a lot...

Another thing I've noticed is that DECtalk seems to hijack the number for capitalization pitch change. When I go back to Eloquence, it's set at thirty, which is too high for Eloquence. Strange that it would doo that as they're supposed to have their own numbers in their respective sections of the .ini file. I have Eloquence's number set at twelve normally.

Quite odd....

Well, for me it's working. Eloquence's set at 15 for me, and dectalk at 30.

#186

Too many bugs for me, at least that one that only has one version of DECtalk, so I uninstalled it.
Strange, Troubled Times...

#187

Ah well, I use the bundle indeed, perhaps that bug isn't present in that one.

#188

I wish I knew for certain, and I don't know one version of DECtalk from another one, so I suppose it isn't much of a priority for me. Maybe I'll try the bundle out at some point. I still have both in my downloads folder.
Strange, Troubled Times...

#189

Well they are very similar indeed. It's those small details though which I hear, and dectalk 4.41 is my favourite.

#190

Was curious, so I installed the bundle, and I still have the bug. When I go back to Eloquence, I have to put the capital pitch change back to twelve.

The other bug, the scratchy voice, I haven't experienced, yet.

Sounds funny for sure, and I wish my settings would keep, but they don't seem to with this rendition of DECtalk.

Ah well, NVDA rocks anyhow, and my Eloquence is my favorite so, as I said before, DECtalk isn't a high priority for me.

And I found another bug, in dectalk, the volume slider doesn't change the volume, but just the voiced gain.

#195

It doesn't seem to write anything to the NVDA.ini file either. There's a section in there for DECtalk but it doesn't have some of the parameters listed. I've uninstalled it. Maybe there will be a better update, but till then, it's gone from my computer.

Newfon sucks, man. Go use rhvoice instead. Rhvoice has a configuration file as well that you can set voice profiles:
What I mean by voiceprofiles is the synthesizer can change language based on the alphabet of the text, eg: When you set a voice profile for bdl and anna voices like bdl+anna, it swtiches the voice to bdl for latin letters and anna for Russian letters
More info can be found on the wiki page of the rhvoice github page
Sorry for the long and complicated looking post

btw I switched back to NVDA after 2-3 years of using Narrator. It kept crashing for some pages on microsoft edge and I couldn't resist no more. But let me tell you, that narrator can read subtitles in youtube on microsoft edge and they couldn't resolve it for NVDA still. But NVDA has better performance for my machine and it works good

I'm not much for watching things on YouTube, with or without subtitles, and if something crashes, that would drive me away quickly.

I'm a member of the beta testers group here on Elten, and, as an example, there's an add-on that supposedly provides more functionality for Elten, but for me it crashes the voice. So, I prefer stability to functionality, and as a result, I will never use the add-on here.

NVDA never does crash for me.
