Slashes makes more sense because dates used to be written like, for example, the twenty-third day, of September, in the year of our Lord, Two Thousand and Twenty-Six, or the 23RD of the 9TH Month, 2026. The Slash usually implies of something, hence, 3/4, 4/4, 1/2, etc. In that case, why don't you also write 3.4 instead of three quarters or 1.2 instead of half? The period usually suggests adding on something, hence why you write 3.14 for pi. Because it's three wholes, and 14% of a whole, rather than 3 of 14 total. Also, it's easier to read with a screen reader imo.
