@Marck. I love that, I was singing along, makeing up the words.
Let the stars be your guide. Let your mind just relax. And when in doubt, meditate.

Is the drum loop a sample?

Hello guys. I have a question. Do you have any sources from which you get guides about Ableton? Maybe some podcasts, text guides, or you learn on your own. I'm asking, because for me ableton is very different from reaper and I don't know even where to start :).

Yeah it is. If it sounds bad, or the drumroll does, they are warped and slowed roughly 24 bpm. I couldn't help it unfortunately.

Hi,
there is a podcast which is called "Access Ableton". If you have an RSSFeed reader, you can subscribe to it here:
https://pinecast.com/feed/access-ableton

Thank you :). I have one more question, because maybe I'm making a mistake at this stage ;). When you say ableton, you mean the program, not the device, (workstation), right?

Yup, Ableton Live. There is the Ableton Move but it's rather a companion device. Useful for sure, but yeah. Something else.

Live, rather.
Never sure what move was entirely, I've heard about some people using it though.
Apparently, as for how to use ableton, their site should have pretty good docs with keyboard commands as well, but I never bothered really checking those out. As the first 2 episodes of the podcast already gave me a great Idea of many things myself. The rest are kind of useful if you want more optional stuff ig. But that's just me.

Unfortunately, I don't have an RSS client. I'm trying to make some simple projects. Maybe if anyone knows could answer my questions here. I will be very grateful :):
1. How to quantize midi. For example: I have on track 1 a simple melody. I want to even notes to grid. How to do it.
2. Is there a rhythm sequencer in this program? For example: I want to add very fast hihats, however, they are unplayable :), So I would like to arrange them on a sequencer if there is one.
3. how to loop piece of a track? For example: I have drums on midi track and I want to loop it for 8 bars.

Lol just search up the podcast on spotify. Maybe apple podcasts too, don't have that personally so didn't check. You don't need rss.
It explains it very well and has answers to all of your questions. And well, of course you can quantize.

Move is basically a physical product, just like a DJ mixer thing.

1. Alt + 3 to get into clip view, then adjust the grid with ctrl + 1 and ctrl + 2 and hit ctrl + u. When done with recording, Ableton will automatically try to find the grid you were trying to play on, so control + u mostly is enough.
2. Clip view, press shift + tab like 8 times and then escape, you should be on the toolbar now. Go two times right, two times tab, and you'll have the rhythm generator. There you can choose the note in the next list. there is some slider that is on 4, I would put it on 8 then adjust the grid accordingly. Also, there is another slider that is after the grid somewhere which is on 4, I would put it on 4 because then it doesn't play a note with a higher vilocity every 4th note.
And you need an empty clip to do that. Go to aragement view, shift + rght until you reached the desired length, and (I think?) control + shift + m. Then escape and you should be at the beginning.
3. You could use the session view and scenes for that, however you also can record your 1-2 bars of midi clip, then dublicate it by selecting it with shift + arrow right and then pressing control + d until you dublicated it often enough. Then you can deselect the current clip, go to the beginning and optionally marc every just created clip and press ctrl + j to consulidate it into one clip.
Hope this helps!
