First demo. By no means finished. Every melody is self made, everything except of the synth, piano and guitar is sampled externally from Ableton.

Hmm, add for it some typical dupstep bass, make it longer and it will be great xd

You should've probably posted this into music producers unite. Wasn't the plan to have this one only for tips now? Or am I just confused.

Thanks, I appreciate all your feedback!
Regarding the other topic, that's a fair point actually. I'll post the final version in music producers unite.

Very thanks :) I made my first ableton project. I wil attach it in my next message

-- (rudolf):
1. Alt + 3 to get into clip view, then adjust the grid with ctrl + 1 and ctrl + 2 and hit ctrl + u. When done with recording, Ableton will automatically try to find the grid you were trying to play on, so control + u mostly is enough.
2. Clip view, press shift + tab like 8 times and then escape, you should be on the toolbar now. Go two times right, two times tab, and you'll have the rhythm generator. There you can choose the note in the next list. there is some slider that is on 4, I would put it on 8 then adjust the grid accordingly. Also, there is another slider that is after the grid somewhere which is on 4, I would put it on 4 because then it doesn't play a note with a higher vilocity every 4th note.
And you need an empty clip to do that. Go to aragement view, shift + rght until you reached the desired length, and (I think?) control + shift + m. Then escape and you should be at the beginning.
3. You could use the session view and scenes for that, however you also can record your 1-2 bars of midi clip, then dublicate it by selecting it with shift + arrow right and then pressing control + d until you dublicated it often enough. Then you can deselect the current clip, go to the beginning and optionally marc every just created clip and press ctrl + j to consulidate it into one clip.
Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, I don't have an RSS client. I'm trying to make some simple projects. Maybe if anyone knows could answer my questions here. I will be very grateful :):
1. How to quantize midi. For example: I have on track 1 a simple melody. I want to even notes to grid. How to do it.
2. Is there a rhythm sequencer in this program? For example: I want to add very fast hihats, however, they are unplayable :), So I would like to arrange them on a sequencer if there is one.
3. how to loop piece of a track? For example: I have drums on midi track and I want to loop it for 8 bars.

Nice. I assume you've used Reaper before? How do you like Abletons UI and stuff? Do you find it more intuetive?

rudolf

I like it, keep it up.

In my opinion, these programs are designed for something completely different :). Reaper is essentially a toolkit for recording and processing audio signals, and Ableton is created to creating music directly - often using many built-in and dedicated for it functions. Bright. You are able to make music in Reaper using virtual instruments, but to get to the swing settings, for example, you have to go through a lot of options and it is not very easy and comfortable. The same - you can edit the recording of your voice and add some sounds for it in Ableton, but the philosophy of this program is not intended for this purpose. I don't know if I explained what I mean well, but I hope so :).

It all depends on what you like. I know people who have been producing music on Reaper for 15 years and they don't intend to change anything. The program is not a determinant here. The determinant is what you feel comfortable using :).

Ah money waste it not really is. You get 75 gb of sounds and in general it's 100% worth it.
