All right, so this thing that I've just attached, I used my computer keyboard to play it, and I have an overview of the Hammered Dulcimer thanks to the YouTube videos that I've been able to listen to. But still, I wonder whether such a thing can be played on a real dulcimer. So what I've just played is realistic. And yeah, how I can play it. I mean, how is a dulcimer laid out and how is it tuned and how is it played? These are my questions. So once again, thanks in advance.

I've looked at a dulcimer, a hammered dulcimer, and I've even explored the hammers as well. The keys are, the strings are, you know, from toward you, closest to you, to away from you, and the ones close to you are the bass strings, the lower strings, and it seems to have, at least the particular dulcimer I saw, had real keys like a guitar or something like that, you know, the flat things that you tune with, and the hammers are...

the hammers are wedged shape sort of I was describing a dulcimer a hammered dulcimer kind of hard to describe them they almost look if you've ever seen a tomahawk they almost look like one of those in shape they have a kind of a pointed tapered flat side to them very hard to describe anyway that's about all I know about dulcimers each string has a unison so like you if the middle C would have another middle C right by it and that's that's how you kind of get the wavery sounds when the strings are just slightly out of tune with each other anyway that's about all I know

Yeah, I still didn't quite get how the hammers are shaped, but while your explanation is greatly appreciated, I thank you so much for it.

I may have forgotten to mention that the tuning is chromatic so it's you know basically like a piano except I don't think that the sharps and flats and what all are in a different place I think they're just kind of right in there together it would be hard to play in my opinion

Yeah, I know that, but you can't, like, get all the 12 notes, including all the flats and sharps, on one single string, yeah.

no absolutely not they're there I didn't say on the same string there there you have two strings a C a C sharp would be two strings the D would be two strings and they're all you know laid out in pairs like that all up and down the instrument

Well, one thing I might like to add is that in our school for the blind, when people played the hammered dulcimer, they always had some residue of eyesight. So I suppose the teachers thought that no totally blind person could play a hammered dulcimer. And yes, I imagine it to be extremely difficult. Well, since you said you only wanted to know if that was realistic, what you played on your keyboard there. If you've ever listened to Joshua Messick, you might have found out through him what is realistic. OK, so.

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away Now it looks as though they're here to stay Oh, I believe in yesterday Suddenly, I'm not of the man I used to be There's a shadow hanging over me Oh, I believe in yesterday Why she had to go, I don't know She wouldn't say I said, something's wrong
