tbf the people in the dorms scared of em would be prepared I guess. -- (aldenmaster): @firealarmspeople The K-12 school which I went to would do early morning fire alarms every month. Imagine knowing that you're gonna be woken up by it at like 04:30 to 06:00 at any time in the month. Anxiety levels went to 101 when they started doing them in the main buildings because we all knew that the dorms would be next.
I'm afraid for some strange reason of sudden loud noises that come out of nowhere, like for example I was trying to sleep last night, and a motorcycle or something loud, went by the house and startled me. I'm also startled by loud alarm-type sounds, whether in emergency situations, or the weird sound I picked to wake me up. Also, as weird as it sounds, I'm afraid of total silence, because my brain makes up random sounds to scare me for some odd reason, so, I always have something on, no matter what I do.
Mine is a multitonal ringing. I most notice it if I'm sitting in a closed car while waiting for my family or something. It has to do with the materials of the car absorbing sound in a specific way. I can still hear it if there's birds outside or whatever. It's been this way since I can remember, so I think my brain is about as normal as it gets there. Everybody has tinnitus to some degree. -- (DianaCician): I'm afraid for some strange reason of sudden loud noises that come out of nowhere, like for example I was trying to sleep last night, and a motorcycle or something loud, went by the house and startled me. So like I don't know if this will make sense to yall but my body gets scared of some sounds and only rarely. But like emotionally or psychologically feeling scared or vonerable? no. I might tence up for like half a second but that's like all. Of course unless it's sleep paralisis.
For me, there are many sounds that really scare me to hell. First, the sound of a chewed up tape. I don't know why but I almost stopped listening to tapes because of that. Second, every kind of bomb sound effect.
Any time I hear a low buzzing from an insect, say a wasp, hornet or similar, I freeze. Same goes for bees. I can deal with flies or mosquitos, but bees, wasps, hornets (basically any flying buzzy thing with a stinger) terrifies the hell out of me. Pretty sure I'm allergic to wasps but I haven't been tested to confirm that.
my dad just casually took a beetle off my hand that i didn't feel and it was holding on because i felt weight coming off my hand. then i heard it fly before my dad smashed it and it scared the shit out of me. that was this morning
I just remembered a song that kind of creeped me out when I first heard it. I wasn't aware of its title till recently and I didn't know the artist either. Now, though, I can tell you that the song is called Tom's Diner and it's by Susan Vega. Something about its repetition and how it has this pattern of going up the scale in a minor key that makes my skin crawl. The words aren't scary at all, when I finally got the nerve to listen to them, lol.
The cover that was made in 2023 sounds nice sounding to me. It's a happier minor song to me, and I the majority of stuff I listen to is in minor for most of the durration of whatever song it may be. I say for most of the duration because I listen to a lot of progressive rock and metal, so I'm used to random key and time signature changes.
so there's this one song by a silver mt zion it's called 13 angels standing guard around the side of
your bed i don't know what it is but it's like some creepy thing and it's really creepy uh because
i've seen a tick tock that was like this is the last sound somebody's cat made and whenever they
recorded it and turned it into a song their cat died and i don't know i don't believe that to be
true but it scared me so badly so um yeah that's a creepy song and uh and her creepy sound i'd say
is like silence and i as other people might have said i didn't really check
but like i have to sleep with something on because otherwise i start getting really
paranoid for no reason it's like i have either a video or an audiobook
how do you
do
Who casually makes a song, and then...
...uploads it...
...and then claims that their cat made it?
That sounds kind of...
...meh, in my opinion, because that's not even possible, A.
And B, even if it were...
...it... no.
It would just... it would just sound wrong. It sounds wrong...
...
Well, here goes a long list. Fire alarms or really any loud alarm, Electronic Game Jump Scares (Bop It, Brain Shift, etc), static, a hand full of motorola ring tones, the black berry antelope ringtone, anything that is lower pitched than it should be, the amber alert sound, and the start up tone of I think the Romeo embosser.
All unexpected idiotic tone beeps scares me. It started with greeting cards turning on at night at home when I was a child. It often had low batteries, making strange sounds. From then on, I started reacting to it very badly, after being woken up at night a few times. To this day I am afraid of a sudden 1-bit or 8-bit beeps. One night, when my server rebelled and woke me up with constant BIOS beeping, I thought I was going to go crazy. I like sleeping most in silence, with the window slightly open, possibly with a clock ticking in the background. The sound of computer fans does not bother me, nor does the fridge in the other room, but I cannot sleep with music. I usually sleep in silence, because otherwise I cannot fall asleep. For some reason, I am also afraid of the phone ringtone. Not a specific one, every one that rings, so I keep it muted almost all the time except voip phone which don't bothers me. BTW, when i hear strange beep, any far sound, i must localise it. Else i will be irritated.
