iphone 15 question

Back to Mobile devices

#1 khalil2009

hello I have a question for you all.  When you first got your iPhone 15 did you have some bad battery life for the last few days? I’m contemplating on if I should just send this back to my carrier or wait it out because the battery kind of sucks and I got this two days ago. It would stay at 100% for a while and then it would go down to 99 and then it would go down every three minutes afterwards. but I’m not really sure if it’s three minutes because I haven’t really counted but it feels very unusual

For me it's always like that when I get a new phone. Just wait for 2 or 3 days and it should settle just fine. I have a plus myself and the battery is perfect.

I don't think that's an apple issue

When I got my iPhone 15 Pro in november. battery life was horrible. I had to charge it twice a day. About two weeks later I only needed to charge it every second day. So battery life improves when waiting.

funnily enough, when I go into the settings and under battery it sez my battery health is normal when it’s absolute shit. So I probably just need to wait unless it’s an accurate or something?

I don't want to be the one here but all iPhones have battery problems, not only a few days after you buy it. I have bad news because it'll be just worse as time goes by.

no they don't. I get 2 days from 1 charge and am using my phone heavily. Screentime shows approximitely 4 hours per day usage.

Also khallil tbh I think you have the same problem as I did and you're just overthinking that the battery should be better than it was on the previous phone, so you're checking it all the time, when in reality it's just fine. I had the same issue on all new phones I bought.

In fact, the battery on all android devices I ever used was somewhat bad, besides my current tablet that's some years old by now. But it hasn't been used heavily ever.
What I'm trying to say is, don't blame apple for personal issues.

Then you have either an iPhone XR, which is the most successful iPhone in terms of battery, or you in fact don't use your phone a lot.
Just saying, 4 hours a day is not much.

that could be true and I'm over thinking it. and @post 8, I don't know what your talking about. I would get a day out of my old iphone 13 pro max at most when I first got it in 2021

I'm blaming Apple for it's own issues.
I don't know what you are talking about in terms of horrible android battery. For example I'm having a Xiaomi poco f5 pro and even if I use it heavily, I don't need to think about recharging the device for at least 2 days. Last time I charged the thing was in the evening of friday, and now it's around 50%. I'll put it on the charger 40 minutes before I leave home tomorrow in the morning, because the 67 W quick charger is going to help me to charge the phone up to 100% in that short amount of time.

4 hours of screentime for me is a lot tbh, when do I have time to use it? I go to school, come back from school, and those 4 hours are mostly youtube and netflix.

I also had problems with android devices in the past, but that was years ago since I switched to iOS back in 2016. I hate Apple as much as someone who uses Android though but the battery has been great always, except on that brick of an SE First gen.

Since the iPhone 12, Apple has been working to improve the battery life. The iPhone 15+ has the best battery life of any iPhone now. You should probably do some research before advising people.
P.S, How much screentime do you have on your phone? I'd just like to point out that 4 hours is like a quarter of the waking day. If you're spending more than that on your phone then I'm concerned.
@Urh, good to hear the battery life on the + is great. I'm considering grabbing one in November at Black Friday precisely because it has the best battery life of the 15 range.

All that I survey, I could easily destroy. From time to time, it is important to remind these small creatures of the true extent of my power.

also the irony about the off-topic posts rule is when a staff member is posting about how good her android phone is in an iPhone thread

My iPhone 13 Pro still has good battery life even though its capacity has dwindled to 82%. I get most of a day of life on it, even with battery hogs such as Feer, Swordy Quest and Dice World.
