I'm done with the SE modells too though. The smaller the phone, the smaller battery it gets, sadly.

i wish i could switch as well but probably i wouldn't have enough reasons but hey, at least eloquence. Well for dayly use the 12 mini is enough for me, since i'm mostly on my comp anyways. The speakers work just fine as well.
Apple has its own headphones and chargers. And the lightning port. So it will allegedly totally abandon cable charging in the future. And it also often ignores software-related user feedback and claims full control over what it can do with the OS and devices. Phone noise cancelation is no longer supported on newer models for no apparent reason other than that Apple realized many people wouldn't need to buy Airpods if they already had this feature.
Noise cancellation is shitty at most of the time though. I turn it off everywhere I'm able to, and I have good reasons for it. Until it starts realizing that my voice is not noise, I'll turn it back on, but I don't want others to suffer just because this neat little noise cancellation puts me in a plastic box and wants me to talk from there :P For headphones it works flawlessly though. However, I don't think any of us would need such a function, and I'm going to tell you why. I know several blind people who orientate while listening to music and that, is, not cool at all. Even more sighted people do this, with airpods in their ears as well. I'd be surprised if noise cancellation didn't kill anyone so far, just because people didn't hear the traffic around them. And honestly it even makes me feel kind of uncomfortable if I'm unable to hear if they want my attention, and I feel kinda stupid when they pat me on the shoulders like hey you, I'm talking!

It's been a while since I last used my now retired iPhone 6S for a call with noise cancelation on, but I thought it worked fine, at least in fairly quiet places with occasional background noise. I haven't owned any Airpods myself though so can't say much about it. I don't know how well it filters out noise and whether it damages the caller's voice or listened media. I wouldn't already use it in cases where I would need to hear what's going around me. I'm not that type of person who listens to music, podcasts, audio books or similar things while doing other activities, except walking in places I am already familiar with, or when I have a sighted person to accompany me.
I'm not either, but I was involved in some situations when I walked together with other blind folks and they didn't even give a shit if they were still on the right way and I was like WTF? Of course, headsets in both ears so it wasn't surprising. What I said about noise cancellation is just a general opinion of mine about this feature, not based on any specific phones.

Yeah, there are certain software and hardware that do an incredible job with filtering out noise while preserving the needed audio. Glad you were not hurt.
I want an iPhone SE2022, to be honest. But it is way too expensive for me, as the dollar got higher and higher, and we have VAT around 18% in Turkey, so this drives the price even higher. I'm using an iPhone 7 right now, and I'm happy with it's battery, but I'm using this phone for around three or four years, so I'm worried that the battery will die on me or whatever. The reason that I prefer the iPhone se2022 over the iPhone se 2020 is they say that the se 2022's battery life is better than the se 2020.
