Android allowes that these days, how ever the way to activate it is not as easy as on apple devices. And it only works sometimes since sometimes vital voice components are missing so talkback tur on but can't talk at all. Also tb always tries to start this stupid tutorial and it seams like google is making scipping this tutrial hard on porpose since you oftn just can't reach the important buttons cause something weird is blocking you frm tabing them.

a lot of spelling errors, missing letters or typo's there so it was a bit weired to understand. Anyways, i heard that you can enable talkback and can't hear a tts, however i think the english one should be installed on any of these. Well this is why samsung is good. Their set up wizards are completely accessible or have been always for me, with not a single problem.

Yeah, however, don't forget that for a good, or at least a better phone which has all the features you mentioned, you'll spend just exactly the same amount of money you'd spend on an iPhone. And you don't even get all the accessibility features because it depends too heavily on the manufacturer.

now of course idk how setting up the thing is since they removed voice assistant, so that only talkback remains. But i think its already installed then

Yes, they did since the OneUI update based on Android 11.

lol thought you'd know. I found it very disappointing and sad actually. I loved that thing of its own. For me, it was always some what better and faster than talkback. But i guess people have different opinions and it didn't got updated so much. Then talkback cloned some function of it and so they removed it i asoom.

Yes, I know they killed it, but how would you set up the phone from scratch then? As much as I don't really like android, I'd be glad to see one myself and actualy know in what stage it is now. As far as I know, you need to install individual voices to let talkback be able to speak so I don't think it would talk on the first screen, especially if your chosen language isn't english. All I know is that for example if you want to use the phone in hungarian, you need to ask a sighted person to download the required voice for you and there you go, but then you have already passed the setup screen. It's also possible to do that yourself if you have the apk file somewhere else, but that usually means you cracked the voice so yeah. And to let it speak from an apk file, you need a voice to tell your options anyway.

The initial language of most android devices is english. Before switching to your desired language you should continue the setup in english and enter your wifi information, then use TalkBacks back navigation gesture (down and left) and go back to the language selection dialog. After switching to your language the Google TTS now should automatically download the appropriate language files in background. One exception I know of are some Nokia devices, they are indeed a little tricky to setup when the inicial locale is set to something else than english. A Sim card with activated data option might help to at least use the online TTS until Wifi information has been entered.

I think of switching to android, but I was always with an iPhone. I personally think you should go with a Samsung Galaxy a53, since that's what I am probably gonna purchase.

#32

well i'm rather that guy of s models, if so. a53, is that new? Old? I never can tell with a models.

I am going to switch to android and going to probably get the pixel 7 when it comes out. ´-And yes, android is also very accessible, it really improved

#34

yep. I really am done with apple and its devices, for various reasons that i just can't accept, for example, in the new iphone 14 they decited to not put the new cpu in the normal models, they only put the new hardware in the 14 pro and pro max, and that was the point where i am now saying, no. Absolutily, no.

Why would you always need the newest iPhone though? I mean I have an SE2 and I'm totally fine with it. If you aren't satisfied with the new iPhone 14 modells, noone forces you to buy any of them.

yeah, if you really want a new one you can get the 13 as well. I also wasn't satusfied when i couldn't use cable headphones with the iPhone 7 anymore but these are things you get used to

Hello. I don't know about prices on Iphones in other countries, but about a month ago my brother bought an iphone 11, and i'm not sure that it was new, and he payed around 750 usd for it. For this money i could buy a latest android devices from xiaomi, realmi or oneplus. Samsung and iphones are soooooo overpriced for me. I'm not planning to return to ios devices. I'm going to get an asus zenphone 9, will see will I able to setup it without sighted help.

As i said i bought an iphone se3 now, the se2 laste 2 good years and still works as a second phone. I just prefer the iphone8 design, small display, homebutton and touch id more then the one of the 12 and 13. It's just to big for me. Why do i need a big display as a blind? The minni is somewhat better but it has this 5s design which surely has it's glance but it's more clunky.

honestly, i am not really happy with the iphone 12 mini. The battery is small and lasts just some hours if i don't turn everything like wlan or mobile data off, and the speaker had problems after some monts of usse. In general, i'm just not satisfied with the new iphones´at all. Its not about the home button, i am okay with this swipe thing, but face ID is not the best and apple did not manage to put a fingerprint module into the screen, as most android devices have it. regarding iphones i'm just done with theese phones, i know how android looks and how to usse it, and that is why i am going to switch
