Agreed.
Also, I don't want to dive into political stuff, but I think it was being exaggerated so much. At least they don't sell your private info like Facebook does. So most of the harsh criticism came from those working to spread the anti-China propaganda. Zoom is at least as secure and safe as Skype, and Yandex is at least as secure and safe as Google.
--Cytat (radio729):
Recently, you may have heard that Zoom was haveing some security issues so they updated the clients with some new security settings. Now if you join a meeting and you are the host, you must allow the other people to join the meeting. You do this by going to the participants list. The reason you have to do this is because the Waiting Room is enabled by default. Also if you are the host, you have to give others permission to record. I think Zoom did a great job with security.

Many thanks for the tip!
--Cytat (hermis501):
If it's actual for someone, I'm sharing the information: in zoom, go to settings>audio>advanced, and find something similar like "enable original sound" or "show original sound", then in a meeting you'll find button "turn on original sound". By pressing this you get excelent sound quality (of course it depends of your hardware :D), but sounds really better.

Sorry, but here's not the place to ask this question.
--Cytat (gangster):
Can someone tell me stereo microphone names. I want to get one.

I would also like to add that you don't even need an Internet connection to join a Zoom meeting. You can join any meeting as though you're having a phone call, by dialing a certain number.

Here is an NVDA add on called, "Zoom Enhancements" for those who are using Zoom with the NVDA screen reader. Instructions are found in the Help menu of the add on. You can change the settings of the add on by going to the NVDA menu/preferences/Zoom Enhancements.

Thank you very much. I'm going to try the addon.

Note: This add-on is available on the NVDA community add-on website, which can be accessed in Tools, manage add-ons, get add-ons.

Also, there isn't much in this add-on that I use, but for some, this will be useful.

Zoom has finally made it possible to select stereo audio from the app itself. In brief, just poke around in advanced audio settings and you'll find it there.

It should have no effect on mono microphones, so I didn't get whether it makes any real difference.

I have a stereo mike built in on my laptop.

And if somebody shares their audio and if it is in stereo, you will hear it in stereo if they have it enabled.

Good for you, but the exact opposite is the case for most. And this is what I'm talking about.
So my question is, would Zoom previously enable anyone using a stereo microphone to share their audio in stereo, even if not by toggling it within the app itself?

It used to be impossible to do it from the website. A help file I read on that had bad, outdated information. Now it can be done in the app, where it should have been in the first place.

If you have a newer computer, odds are that it has a stereo mike built in. Mine is six years old and has this.

If you want to hear someone's audio in stereo, best to have this enabled.

Well, I'd prefer speed to quality. I don't think I'd need that even if I had a stereo microphone, built-in or external, as it should require larger amounts of data transfer; but still good to know that it's possible. So thanks...

What? What do you mean?
Does it affect my own voice or the audio that I share, or the one that I hear?

It affects what you hear and your microphone from what I understand.

It will also effect any audio you share.

That I know already. I'm asking whether it affects what I hear as well.
