Hello, I have tried mbrola voices for English on arch. They sound in a really interesting way, however, when increasing the speed to 80%, they start to miss some words, the speech is like cut. As far as I understood from Wikipedia article, mbrola uses phonemes, but it sounds like the voices were pre-recorded. Maybe they are good for slow reading, but not for coding and other tasks.
You actually inspired me to try that out, I will do it later! Maybe we are talking about different voices, but I tried mbrola US-English first voice which is a female voice and it didn't sound that bad as you mentioned.
How to use mbrola with latest version of NVDA? I tried a few versions back, but it would ignore some of the new phonemes of e-speak tr while speaking, so it would pretend that some letters doesn't exist and would ignore them as it read text, as if it encountered a character that doesn't exist in the Turkish alphabet, but this wasn't the case.
hi, if anyone knows about arabic tts voices, that would be great, vocolizer and espeak cant speak arabic corectly, and i am looking for the discontinued akapela arabic youssef voicefrom like 2006. if anyone can find the voice or any other arabic voice, send the link here.
i say about arabic -- (etno): It depents on the language you want eSpeak to use for. I like the german eSpeak. And it's easier to add new languages to espeak.
The hungarian one is fine as well. The only languages I've tried so far were hungarian, russian, polish, german, english of course, czech, norvegian and swedish. The last three languages I don't speak at all, only understand a few things, tried them only because I was too curious. The russian espeak doesn't sound russian though. It may sound crazy, but for me as a non-native speaker, it sounds more like a crossover between english and russian :D
yeah, i don't care for espeak, its okay for englesh. at the moment, i am useing eti eloquence 4.0 glen, but if anyone can find any arabic voices, send them here.
Eloquence is yet one synth I don't get the hang of. I mean, I have no idea about why people love it this much.

Clear? Eh well, it's probably only me who's not used to read english with actual english synth, but Eloquence is one of the few synths I can't understand above a speed like 65 percent.

@ Usuf: you might find the voice you've asked about on nvda.ru, if you search for acapela Infovox there. I hope you've got something to translate the website with. I'm surprised though you think Vocalizer is pronouncing things incorrectly. Perhaps it's a different variety of Arabic it speaks.
I CANT SEEM TO FIND THE ARABIC VOICE ON THE WEBSITE, ALL I SEE ARE RUSION VOICES. IF YOU COULD COPPY THE LINK, THAT WOULD BE GREAT, I WILL STILL BE LOOKING
