yep, from what I'm currently reading in the forum, the central server is shutdown so no one can really log in anymore

It's open source. The main server is now down, just as Rory made clear from the start.

If people want me to I can look into it and host it in Docker. However, it wouldn't be safe and due the way of how I manage my server, would only be updated to the latest commit every month. The same goes for backups.

Yeah, it is. A bunch of things that needed to still be fixed/looked into, etc. Some things were also ment to be recoded, idk how much that's gonna happen now but well.

The entire open source thing that people suddenly start to love to have for any project of any kind is a mistery to me. As if it's gonna contribute much.

Just because you can't contribute, it doesn't mean others can't either. Leave it to those who can.

@34, I agree with you in principle, I think the whole obsession some in this community have with open source is dumb and a little absurd, but like, I don't see the harm in it. Besides. It's 2026. We have vibe coders around who'll contribute.

Vibe code doesn't need to be as great as people say it is. And no, of course open sourcing ain't always bad, or even harmful. But in the bc we've seen it leads to nothing, and one shouldn't really base ones hopes on someone eventually adding some random code of theirs, or just their AI, to it.
