Why do you think some people give random or offensive answers in polls? honest answers are greatly appreciated.
Probably because they are somewhat bored. They want to troll and it probably makes them even happy if they see anyone annoyed.

An outlet? Built-up tention likely. The internet won't punish them as hard as real life as you can't feel the aura of the person or really get their tone. So they just let loose these horrible strings of insults.
