Beta Testing and too Little Feedback!

Back to Elten Link

Dear Elten Users,

Lately, I have been reading some of the forum threads of the Polish community. I am able to do this with the help of the NVDA Translation Add On of which Queenslight mentionned about under this same forum. It works reasonably well when using the Elten program to translate Polish into English.
One of the forum threads which I found in there has the same title as this one. In this forum thread, Pajper is not really satisfied concerning the testing of the Elten beta versions, let alone, the downloading of them. I'll quote here a couple of Pajper's conclusions:
He comes to the conclusion that testers feedback are, in his opinion, too small so as to garantee the stability of the upcoming majure update, Elten 2.4. To quote Pajper, "The last beta version [Elten 2.4 beta 40] was only installed by 31 users and only 17 of them commented on testing. This applies to the three groups, Polish, English, and Russian. A simmillar turnout applies to previous versions. Although there is a significant drop in interest, for example, beta 10 or newer was installed by 122 users, beta 25 or newer by 72 users and beta 35 by 35 users.
There are still 28 users who are still using beta 35 which was released on April 17." We are now on beta 40. So Pajper is asking himself, "how do you see it?"
I can understand that some may not find the time to be involved in the English Elten beta testers group due to various circumstances. For these Elten users, it would make sense, I think, that they should no longer be a member of the English Elten beta testers group. Remember, your participation and feedback in this group is more than important if we want to bring this majure update of Elten 2.4 to a good end and that the update should be programmed on the set time [August 24, 2020]. Pajper needs your feedback more than ever. It is most important to him. I also would like to remind you that it is important to follow the forum, "Elten Beta Testing PC" so as to stay up-to-date when a new beta version is available.
I hope that all of you are understanding this problem and if you are able to, that you will respond, and for those of you, who have been falling back, that you will resume your testing.

Sincerely,

Railwayguy
administrator of the Elten beta English testers group.

Usually, when I don't give feedback, that means everything's working well. Perhaps I should rather say that, and I really do give feedback when a new feature is introduced or I encounter a bug. Actually, there's a bug in the blogs, which I'll now go ahead and lay out in the forum straight away.

Speaking of being "Too Small",

What would be the easiest way to get more people to both

1. Download the client in general.
2. Promote that Elten exists.

Those right now, is what I am mostly concerned about.

Adding to the above,
if there is indeed an iOS and/or Android client in the works (in addition to the Windows app and maybe a future macintosh app), many wil wish to use the iOS and/or Android app, especially if people do not want to use a Mac or Windows Computer.

Indeed, agreed with Hozosch. When everything is working fine, I don't need to give any feedback cause everythingis okay. And I usually download those betas which contain more changes, for example not only that a button has been replaced. I always try to find most of the bugs but these months are quite hard for me, since I'm going to take my final exam on the 11th june which will literaly decide how my life goes on. So please forgive that I'm less active nowadays, but I promise, after this stuff ends, I'll be back to normal.

Agreed with queenslight. Plus, I-m afrade if this get-s so down I will never have to test beta versions. I-m always updating to the latest beta, before or afther that I-m translating the interface.

Hi, I know, that I asked that in a pm before, but I don't want to understand why only peole over 18 join the beta. Yea I know, I am 13 and its mabe to young, but where is the problem, I can't destroi anything if you understand what I mean, so why don't you try it, I mean, I have the Beta, and that is not because I did anything without breaking the rules, if anyone leaks the Betacode, it isn't my problem. But please explane it to me. I don't want to start a descussion, but well, I think it wouldn't be a problem, to try me, it, whatever. Okay, no I am quied realy, have a nice day or what ever.
