How did the real names of the siri voices come about?

Hi guys,
I'd like to ask something here. You know that back in IOS 10 and down, there were those two siri voices. How was it found out that they're called Aron and Nicki? As of IOS 11, Aron remained, but the female voice got replaced and nicki is retired, still being available as a Voice Over voice. Anyway, I'd be interested to know if someone knows this.

I lost the female voice when I upgraded to thirteen, and I had no idea what their names were.

Yeah. I mean, they're shown as "Siri male" and "Siri female" in the Voice Over settings, and yet, there are those names. There's one possibility. Someone made a NVDA driver out of the old ones from IOS 10 and down, based on Vocalizer, and there, they show up with actual person names. I'm not sure though if there's another possibility.

No data to support this, but I think they might actually be apple original voices.

I was sad when I lost Nicki. I didn't use her much but liked to have her so I could switch from Aron to her when the mood struck.

hi. i think that the two where vocalizer voices, though they havent ever been released or something like that, but i am not sure. maybe they where apples voices, maybe someone should write to apple support for that. that might be an interesting question to them, since they have to beat with most boring problems... looooool.

I wonder what name the new female has. She sounds younger and more cheerful than did Nicki.
Yesterday I discovered I have the new female voice, that after trying, I thought, in vain to get her when she first came out. At some point she mysteriously downloaded.

The siri Russian voices are called Elena and Alexey.
What new voices are you talking about?

Mainly the American voices have been discussed, but that's not to say others can't be. For instance, it would be interesting to know what names the German ones have, since my wife is German and uses them, or just switched to the male Siri.

The German ones are called Helena and Martin. That's at least how they were called in the vocalizer thing for NVDA that included them. IOS still uses the same voices, although they're advanced now, but still, I don't think they've changed names.

Ah, cool, and thanks for that info.

Actually, I know how to know a siri voices names, but i am a bit lazy to write it, it is better to explain it in the voice message.
But still I will write :)
It will work for iOs 13 and higher.
Go to voiceOver settings, activities, create an activity and set the siri voice for it. Then when you browse options for activity you're creating, you will see that under the voice button it will say "voice" the name of the voice and "button".
That's it! :)

No, but there was an Alex NVDA add-on but that was made as a joke. It didn't work that well anyway.
