RetroArch
Back to Games#1 Seva
Hi all!
Has anybody tryed playing with RetroArch?
For some reason it doesn't work for me, it doesn't recognise unicode characters so it reads what ever it wants instead of the interface of actual application.
My god.
If anybody knows how to solve this issue please help!
And I will be glad to hear about your experience playing with it.

no, in retroarch options.
On audio games forum was a developer of the accessibility features, he gave a sequence of what you should doo so you can check it out

hi, sorry for reviving the topic, but it doesn't open any window when i try to launch it, it only says retroarch window, unknown, i can't arow or tabb cause it doesn't say anything, how to fix the problem? thanks in advance

and how to open accesible mode
#7 bloodstorm
hello
for all, who have problems with turning on accessibility or changing language to english, after you first start it and screen reader will say retroarch, press escape twice.
after that, in the retroarch folder will appear config file called retroarch.cfg, you should open it with the your text editer, and change some lines:
accessibility_enable = "false"
you must change "false" to "true"
it should look like this
accessibility_enable = "true"
and also, you can change the line:
user_language = "your-system-language-number"
if you want to change language to english, change number to "0"
it should look like this:
user_language = "0"
hope it helped, and sorry for my bad english.

Hi all,
does anyone know how to run arcade games in RetroArch? The most games I try don't start. Only one works at the moment.
thanks.
#10 Victor
What kind of games are you trying to run?
#11 Janagirl
Hmm, I don't really know what to tell here, I only can tell that they are games for mame. Does this answer your question?
#12 Victor
OK, I'm not totally sure what that is, but make sure there's a core for that
#13 Janagirl
Of course I have the core. As said, some games work correctly.
#14 techboy
yes, run it using the core that just have the name mame. Or you can change the core asociation in the history menu to see which mame version works for you. Also Do not un pack zips.
#15 Victor
Also if there's more than one core available, try another one, but do what techboy said first before that. Also, you can unpack zips if you want to, but you really don't. If you have a playlist of games, tell it to scan inside archives.
#16 Janagirl
That's the point. I tried every core that is named "mame". But The game doesn't load, instead, I'm returned back to where it says "start" again. And I now found out that it says "loading of content failed". Does it need any bios there as well? I don't have any for mame in retroarch.
#17 Adasadula
I, on the other hand, have a different problem. I load e.g. rythm heaven, but the wgl game is not read. I heard she should be. Is it true?

Hello
I'malso didn't figure out how to run the arcade games using retroarch. It's not as easy as running any other console game, I think you can try to google how to run them if you really need to.
As far as I understood, you need a dataset whitch contains information about every arcade rom which could be handled by an emulator, I guess you also need a bios for arcade machine board of a game whitch you would like to play.
But as I said above, I'm also failing on launching any arcade game on retroarch. Btw, maybe you could try to ask this question on official retroarch communities, for example their subreddit?
#19 Janagirl
OK, thanks for this info.
#20 Victor
OK if it's arcade games yeah, I think they run a bit differently. You might need the firmwares and stuff
