Yeah, in Hungary the situation is the same that Dragma required. It's not ancient here, but the price is like 2000 USD if exchanged from HUF.
RE: RH voice. Yes, even I appreciate this synth, as a russian learner. Many native russians have told me that the vocalizer is horrible and full of errors, that is why I don't use that at all.

In addition to Vocalizer, there is a voice from Acapela, but I also do not recommend reading Russian using it. I don't know how to write it better in English, but both Vocalizer and Acapela seem to gurgle when pronouncing words, they have errors with abbreviations, stresses, pronunciation of individual letters and symbols. In short, it can be used, but if there is an alternative, I will use the alternative which is RHVoice.

i actually did get the voice, but thanks to some technicle problems, I had to reset my computer and the installer crashes after I press theI agree button.think he miyght have just sarcastically told us to ignore his request rather than informing us that he truly got the voice.

*wispering*. Hey! Can you please send me a tutorial on how to get the voice? I don't need it like vitally, but just for fun and experimentation. You can send it in arabic if you prefer.
-- (usuf):
forget it!, I found the voice.

I didn't pay for my Braille display myself. I've been taking Arabic and theology courses, and since Arabic voices don't give the best result, I decided to read Arabic texts myself by using a Braille display rather than listening to them from the voices, and then they helped me purchase it. And it's still a Braille Me, which should be the cheapest.
-- (ArcticMoon):
Honestly if you have the budget for a braille display, you have the budget for nearly everything. It's the same situation in Hungary as well but since such devices are awfully expensive, I don't buy any of them.

You also have Captain and Newfon.

I am from Russia. Our situation is very similar to what has already been described here. The only difference is that Russian-speaking users have RHVoice. It's a really good free synthesizer that many people are happy with. If it wasn't for it, I don't even know what I would use. People appreciate this synthesizer for its abundance of voices, good vocabulary, and fast response time. On Ios I have to use Vocalizer, which has a lot of problems with the Russian language, I definitely do not like it, but I have no choice. As for braille displays, I will say that we just recently signed a law that allows blind children under the age of 18 to get them. It is planned that eventually anyone will be able to get a display, but I don't think braille displays will be popular, because every year fewer and fewer people learn braille.

Hope you backed up the installer somewhere.
Does it crash now or did you have to reset your computer because it had been crashing?

So I hope RH voice is good at stresses, because I used that a lot when analyzing words on some of our lectures. I heard acapela only once in my life, but honestly I didn't like it that much.

OMG, newfon, that's a nightmare for learners. Just like Gregor for polish.

Suggested it for native speakers already, perhaps only to do stuff fast or just for fun. It's support for Ukrainian could also make it a better option for Ukrainians who also speak and are often exposed to Russian.

Graham sounds good as a storyteller for kids. Peter's good too but... well, overserious? And Ryan is also fine.

Oh man, as a Russian learner, I found newfon horrible. And I use e-speak while learning Russian. I'm used to it, even though it has some pronunciation errors. The reason that I most liked e-speak is it's multy language support. It supports both Russian and Turkish, and it supports Azerbaijani, Bulgarian, Macedonian etc. Those are languages that I'm interested in.

#394

Now, i received the news, that there is a paid rhvoice for turkish and azerbaijani language.
it's called elnur tts pro. its on google play.

I'm not an Android user, though

#396

And why aren't they showing up on the main rhvoice website if there re voice for Turkish and Azerbaijani? Aren't all rhvoice voices supposed to be free?

#397

well, this author decided not to be fair and closed sourced it.

#398

Oh, how unfare. I can't use them even if I can pay, because as I said, I'm not an android user

#399

lol just because espeak has a crappy loads of languages its not really good. I keep hearing about pronounciation errors with many languages. And the german one just sounds like, idk. Crap? No, worse. Not even prnounciation ishue's but gosh, no. And we don't need to talk about the norwegian one. So this is not really a reason to like espeak. I kepped getting headache when listening to many variants

I'm a person who is interested in many languages. Because of this, it's a nice reason for me. The same might not be true for everyone, though.
