Elten media catalog is now awailable

I created this thread on Elten development, but because here;s more people than in official development group i decided to create it also here because it's my program.
In the first versions of Elten, there was a media catalog feature which was very underdeveloped.
Basically anyone could add multimedia content, and either nobody did it at all, or spammers did it.
The feature disappeared in mid-2018. Initially, it was supposed to return, but in later versions other priorities appeared.
Since then, the topic has come back every few months or years.
People asked whether it would be available, and if so, when it would be available and in which form.
Elten 3X brought us a good API for creating programs and, starting with version 3.0.2 RC1, made it possible to publish them on the server.
So here it is! The media catalog, remembered fondly by many people. Much more thought-out than the one in Elten 1X.
A program created by me, which you can download right now.
All you need to do is go to the Programs menu, choose Manage Programs, and install it from the server.
Here's some information from the readme:
With this application, you can:
Listen to radio stations from any country and search for your favorite stations;
Listen to podcasts popular in any country and search for any podcast;
Add items to favorites and share them with friends.
Catalog is based on radio-browser and Apple podcast and is translated for few languages.
1.1. Internet radio:
Internet radio supports most stream formats, including MP3, AAC, and HLS.
You can play the selected station (Enter) or add it to favorites (Ctrl+F or by using the appropriate option in the player).
If a station is found in multiple audio formats, you can expand the stream list with the Right Arrow key.
1.2. Podcast catalog:
As with Internet radio, you can listen to episodes of any podcast from the lists or search results. You can also enter the RSS feed address of a selected podcast.
You can add any podcast to your favorites and always have it close at hand.
1.3. Favorites:
If you enjoy a radio station or a particular podcast, you can add it to your favorites.
This list is stored on the server, so you can use it on any device with Elten and the media catalog application installed.
If you want, you can also share your favorite podcasts and radio stations with friends. Simply select the appropriate checkbox in the program settings.
Whether or not you share your own favorites, you can view the favorites of people who have you in their contacts.
Open Liked by friends to see a list of contacts who share their favorites.
Remember! These are the first versions of the program. Some options may be underdeveloped.
I will be grateful for all bug reports and will try to fix them as quickly as possible.

The same with the translation issues. If you found any, or want to translate it for other language, just write here and i will contact you in the near future.

This is pretty cool. It currently doesn't compete with klango in my opinion, but still cool to see this return.
Do i understand this right that not everyone can add things anymore but you use a premade list? Is this tune in or another service? I listened to a radio stream and the quality sounded lower then it normaly does so would be interesting if that service maybe uses a lower bitrate or applies compression.

Hm, maybe just write in elten development or here, it doesn't make sense to write in both groups.

Congratulations man! You did a fantastic job! I would say this is as good as it was with Klango. We were all waiting for this for so long. There are a few radio stationswhich are in the catalogue that don't exist anymore. I'll mention them later. So it would be good if they could be removed. Also, some radio stations were not included. I put them in my favorites. Just check my favorites. Keep up the good work!

Unfortunately, I don't manage the radio stations catalog. Creating my own would take months, or maybe even years. On top of that, I would also have to go through thousands of stations every few days to verify that their streams are working.
The directory is based on Radio-browser.info.

AFAIK The Radio-Browser.info database is usually self-maintaining. If a radio station is unavailable for an extended period of time, it is marked as inactive and eventually removed from the catalogue.

Yes. That’s also one of the reasons why I decided to use it.

Ah there is no russian radios there

There are Russian radio stations available on radiobrowser.info. Just go to Countries and then search for the Russian Federation. It's named that: the Russian Federation.

Some of the radio stations seem to appear across most countries, how is this possible? Same names, same content.

Well, as daszekmdn said, it's beyond his control to list the stations.

@DJSenter: Some idiots spam the same station in every country to promote it. RB seems to try to remove this, but it doesn’t always catch everything.

The ability to search for stations by genre (press Tab to enter a genre). You do not have to provide both a name and a genre. You can search by name only, genre only, or both name and genre.
Fixed:
Error handling when reopening the program window while the first one is still open.
Station and podcast lists no longer refresh after adding the selected item to favorites.
Station search is no longer limited to 50 items. You can now load more.
Other minor bugs were fixed.

You may add the ability to select the audio format.

I thought about it but Elten without FFmpeg supports only mp3, ogg, opus and wav.

You may add FFmpeg installation option if someone wishes to save something in an unsupported format.

Then again. On mac, or as I heard linux, people can't install ffmpeg anyways. We really need a proper solution for once.
