As announced, Co New has been removed and replaced by a new notification system. The same system will be coming to mobile devices in the next update. Notifications give us a lot of flexibility, they can pass payload, be generated remotely and locally, and their status is synchronized between devices live, so once we read a message on our phone, it will no longer appear in the notifications section of our computer.
There are definitely some problems with childhood, we will explore this in the upcoming betas, but from my initial tests, the system seems stable.
heads up in beta 14 that we got a new notification system, unfortunately there is currently no way to mark everything as read so you have to mark them each time with ctrl+w
