General discussion / What are we using?

Well, let's fill this group with some life and the generic question, what kind of tools are you guys currently using? I mean, there is quite a bit out already these days. I for my part use and prefer Claude Code at the moment, though I wonder how good Codex is now. Seen people make quite nice stuff with it. Never tried the Google stuff they've been putting out, but shouldn't be to bad either, know of someone who made a VST plugin with Gemini CLI IIRC.

I’m currently taking advantage of the free trial month with Codex. I cancelled Claude last month, as I wanted to take a break for a while. It's difficult to say which coding AI is better. I recently managed to solve a few problems with Codex that Claude had struggled with. However, that was a few months ago and new models are available. It's possible that Claude could offer me a solution now. However, I’m also very happy with Codex. I get the impression that it responds more quickly while still delivering good results. Furthermore, the limits aren't as low as with Claude, at least in my trial period.

I actually started out with Gemini CLI, and successfully got it to make me a Mac app I've been wanting for years. Recently though, I have been using Claud Code and have been very happy with it. But from what I can tell, all of these platforms are really good at this point.

I've been using Codex for a while and I like it better than Claude as the session limit isn't as egregious.

Wonder if I should try Codex at this point. Not the 1st time I hear the limits are better, though I don't really mind the Claude limits really. I much rather wonder about the quallity of the models.

I experienced some annoying issues with Codex yesterday. It rendered a set of linux bash scripts unusable due to incorrect encodings and mixed line endings. Rather than processing the files line by line, Codex applies patches, which can be a bit messy sometimes. Perhaps I should have prepared the environment better beforehand.

I think Linux has some sort of command to convert line endings of files, I can't remember what it is lol.

Anyone tried the Astra model for coding? I don't recommend high thinking for astra, unless you're dealing with something very challenging and demanding. Got a few bugs fixed, a few messages exchanged and you've reached your limit, thanks.
I have gpt +, so it was quite surprising, but that might just be my lack of experience. I'll try Astra low, because people on Reddit say it can perform slightly better and faster than the high SOL.

I need to try that at some point, I've been using Claude recently because I've found its more accurate whereas Codex has been more on the efficiancy side.
