God the pedantry in here is absolutely retarded. The UK is one united Nation. Saying that the UK is 4 countries is like saying that the US is 50 countries rather than one country. Do you also think that The Netherlands is 4 countries rather than one as well? Don't believe me, go ahead and read the following:

Tbh often people do distinguish between England, Scotland, Wales and North Ireland, but officially yes, they're under one British banner. The Scots wouldn't be happy if you group them with the English, keep that in mind. They don't like each other much.
They're perfectly fine with being British, but they don't like it when, for example, Americans call the whole country England. At least from what I understand
