This kind of game needs constant updates, and they did not deliver on that front, that's why it's down. You really can't expect people to stay online when the battlefield is off and team support is also gone. Terrible stuff. Why release it in the first place to then abandon it completely, in times of Claude Code and Codex you'd expect these devs to at least be somewhat faster.
Well, he has no money from it, so why to bother...
I am really sad that both of Sam Tupy's games went ... down the stairs like this. First, STW: I was never able to play it - I was too late. And now redspot: First 30 players online, then 20, then 5, and then ...
funnily enough, I think I mentioned this already hear, but I've been on survive the wild since 2023. On and off. Until my computers keyboard decided it didn't want to work right, so I reset it a few months later, yes, months. And I now then came back to see that stw was no longer working.
I really do miss stw. Even though there were some troubled chat conversations, judgement and stuff, it was still really fun. RedSpot I don't really have an opinion on, mainly because it's the basic shooter game you've seen cloned over a thousand times.
Does anyone know what happened to the game? I haven't been able to connect in some time, but I'm wondering if this is one of those possible temporary shutdowns.
Even if the darkness grows too deep, even if it looks impossible. You are never alone. You are never forgotten. Remember that.
Yall. First off, might come back up again. This was a dum revival purely out of bordem and cuz they felt like it. They said it clearly, things might shut or break at anytime. Im surprised it's only been going down recently. I in fact almost forgot about it. And, again. A 30 player playerbase, doesn't, make a game, good. Darn. Let's be real for once, what did you do. Fight on some empty af map with outdated systems sounds and weapons. There was nothing exciting about it, heck even some random tk back then was better lmfao. So I guess he works on it if he feels like it, and if he doesn't, not hard to move on too.
Guys, I don't know if it's okay to talk about this or not. Yeah, I think Sam Tupy disappointed most of us when he decided to shut down STW. Yes, it's sad. Even though I had gotten bored of the game and didn't play it as often anymore, it had that cool map system without travel points, that very interesting bicycle, and those really cool animals. Yeah, and now LN has come along, from MBM Studios, previously owned by Abas. A damn clone that will never reach the mechanics of STW. The truth is that Sam Tupy was sometimes very vulnerable, and there are rumors that pieces of STW's source code ended up in places where they didn't belong. And yeah, what had to happen happened, with the appropriate quotation marks. After STW was gone, someone wanted to take all the players and all the fame that STW had. People can say it's not a clone, and I've heard rumors that Sam Tupy took a look at this game and agreed with it as long as it didn't use his maps and followed the other conditions he imposed. But it looks very, very similar. Sorry, it's probably not okay to talk about clones here, but I just wanted to get this off my chest a little. Nobody and nothing will ever replace STW. Hello, and have a good day!
Mohammedradwan here. I believe there're moderation issues in LN, but I like the concept. However, I see plenty of isolation player-side, which means, this can't replace the online fun of STW, regardless the amount of players. I no longer play it, because I no longer have time thanks to my sleep schedule even though I spent over 250 dollars, about 268.
