bro I can absolutely relate. I also lost my father almost 9 years ago and all memories I have are positive. Back then I was train obsessed and he went to the train station with me just so I could hear them drive by. Also even when he already had cancer and was weak he carried some huge old computer from the basement into my room because I wanted to play with it.
I try to not think about it for a longer period of time if I can because it brings back memories and I always wonder how it could have been.
