Over the last few weeks, I've been rolling out updates regularly.
The UI has been redesigned visually - it'll still be tweaked quite a lot.
I use the app a fair bit privately and it feels pretty stable now, but that's just my subjective take. I'd really welcome your view.
The latest version also got a initial forum support. Quick note upfront: it's very early days for that feature. There are bugs and it's not as optimised as it should be. I'll be working through all of that over the coming weeks.

hey. Can you maybe decrease the compatibility level? Because A, I can't upgrade to iOS 26 at the moment, and B some people don't have iPhones that support it.

I also wanted to ask this. I don't see a reason why this app requires iOS 26. Although my phone is on iOS 26 I still have an iPod touch on iOS 15, would be greaat if we could use the app on there as well.

Lowered to 17.0, per current AppStore distribution recommendations. ;)

OK so I am trying this out, this initial support for the forum is decent, as I’ve hardly been checking things via the PC client as I’ve had other stuff to do and quite honestly could not be bothered to get drawn into the dumpster fire. One thing I am noticing in the settings menu is you can’t use explore by touch to navigate the interface there, and from what I can tell the little switch icons that show whether something is switched on or off isn’t visible. Also just realised now that the text field doesn’t show all of the text on the screen so I think the text field isn’t expanding when it needs to.

I do have to agree that the forum support is decent. But what if, a, you really like what the post has to offer, or b, your agreing with the other poster about something? Posts can't be liked hear. You can, however, do it on the pc client though. (even after bringing up the menus.) But that's just a suggestion for the forum part of the app, other than that it works. Also you can have it to where you can set sound files for recording and notifications if you wanted too that could be in the CAF/AIF/WAV/MP3 format if you wanted too..


I also forgot to mention hear that you can't edit posts in the app when your on mobile for those that multipost half the time.

also, your not able to use the explore by touch because the switch icons for shortening long messages and the other thing are on the right corner of the screen (at least for me.)for me.e

god I hate when VO crashes for 5 seconds...

You can't see attachments in this client in the forum. Please add that ability.

because maybe you have elten opened on your computer, but also on your phone and you are outside and you want to receive notifications.

No, this is actually a smart design because why would you want get notifications if you're active on your computer anyway? Discord does pretty much the same.

Somę minor updates were rolled out through last days. The most important changes are:
* Rebuilt forum tree structure
* Support for posts liking
* Ability to make quick recording by holding and releasing the record button

Also a small note I forgot to mention. It is obviously possible to run Eltenger on Mac computer with Apple Silicon. :)

A bug: I got a notification that I already read, and it still says !1 new item" on the app, don't get that away.

As of build 32 is it? You can now see atatchments. You can download them and asuming how iOS's filesystem works it'll probably save them to your iCloud drive.

OK so this is really weird, but that issue in private message threads that I had when it would not show the messages at all and the text field was super big, I decided what the hell and deleted then reinstalled the app on my iPhone, and surprise surprise, that issue is gone, and the text field doesn’t take up as much space, and instead of just saying text, the little text element next to it says your message. IDK why it took deleting and reinstalling the app to fix that, but yeah just thought I would mention it.

ok so for whatever reason holding the record button records nothing, and it shows an audio message but when I show the audio player I can't play anything because it didn't record. (I don't know if this applies to forums I only tested it in messages)

Yeah that's weird.

just tested it on the voice forum, and sure enough, it fails to record anything now...

I think you need to press the record button, not hold it.
