proposing. How would you do it?

hello.
So I don't know if this is the right forum for this, but I'm planning to propose to my longterm girlfriend, we have been in a relationship for about 5 years now, and I'm willing to give proposing a chanse.
This made me curious, though. How would you propose if that time ever comes?
Would you do it on a beach, or keep it simple and do it at home?
I'm curious to hear your answers.

Proposing is such an individual thing and should be done how that individual sees fit, depending on how romantic he/she feels and whatever other variable goes into the thinking of it.

I don't have any experience, but you could do it at a place which is important to both of you. Maybe the place you had your first date or a nice vacation you still remember

Actually, I don't know how to do that. Can't you just take a string and wrap it arround the ring finger?

Jewelers have such equipment. As far as units of measure, I'm sure different countries measure in different ways.

I'd go there with another person anyways because I'd want to find a ring that looks good. And for that, I need someone who gives me an honest opinion. I mean, the people at those stores want to sell something to you, I don't know how much you could trust them

I'm thinking more along the lines of a surprise proposal. You wouldn't just randomly want to take your significant other to a jueler if you were looking to keep it quiet.

Well let me ask you. Is there somewhere or something that your partner always wanted to do? You do that, and then when the time is right you ask the question. I have scene videos of people proposing at concerts, at Disney world, at getaway vacations, as long as the people working at the place you want to propose know far in advanced they will almost always do it, As something big like that is a great way to increase customer survice.

Fair. That'd be like my 2nd choice.
