Hey. I don't want to discredit your work, but we already have two ways to do the exact same thing. One of them is, as many others have already told you above, the emoticons addon, and the second one is the command "windows + period"
#23 diamondStar
Hello.
Let me just start off by saying that I have already explained the emoticons are not emojis. And the second thing is that even though it has some emojis: It almost doesn't have any emojis which I was looking for. Just go see how many emoticons there, and how many emojis are there.
Regarding windows + period: I know about it, And as I said multuple times: I don't find it friendly with screen reader, especially with it's problems, at least for me on windows 10. It's not really good for me and so hard to find the thing i'm looking for.

This is a very nice addon. I like it.

Emoticons addon don't give us the ability to put all existing emois. I don't select standard emoticons from the menu because they can be entered normally with the keys and I know quite a few of them so just writing it normally.
For emois, i using the Windows panel, but as someone told before, this panel don't have all. There are some that I search for in Google, because Windows search bar returning no results for some of them.
Does your addon have the search bar?
#26 diamondStar
Yes, Of course there is a search box for searching in the selected category.

Agreeing with Most? Others. Sounds simple but I'm definitly giving this a shot soon, it's probably not even worth comparing with the other addon. It's really limited indeed and it has some sorts of emojis but sometimes not the ones I'd want to use. I also don't have to much xp with that weird windows panel so even if someone in here doesn't see this new one as useful, it still will be for me and many others. Again, people have personal preferences, right?
Keep going dude.
Edit, strangely it also doesn't appear to open up for me via that command.

You'll probably have to redefine it in input gestures or switch to the American English keyboard layout

Yes, I agree indeed. People have different preferences, For me I really hate windows panel so yes that's why I created this, And for other reasons.
As for not opening up with the default command: You might want to change it in the input gestures. Sadly I didn't know that command doesn't work with other keyboard layouts.
Please also note that you need NVDA 2024 for the add-on to work, Because it's not compatible with older versions due to a python dependency issue. I didn't know that until someone reported this issue.

I love this addon, it is very cool. I would say it's even better than the windows emoji panel, because I could never for example find country flags there I had to search on google for those.
I just want to confirm what people already said before, the default shortcut depends on the English U.S keyboard layout. It doesn't work when you switch to a different one. I know how to change it's shortcut but I'm fine with this since I mostly use the English US layout, but just saying.
Keep up the good work

Bro it's english though.

yes this has even more emojis than the standard windows keyboard
#34 thespyde
I wasn't sure about UK English, that's why I said American.
#35 marchoffmann
English (United States) US 1 of 3
#36 thespyde
Same thing only different.

Anyway I have the keyboard. And I'm honestly to lazy trying to think of the key to change it to, or to locate it first, it's a pretty large thing scrolling through all the commands. This bug shouldn't really happen.

Lol heh? It's really not that hard remapping a short cut in NVDA. But well, that's really your problem then.

Windows plus space or shift alt, wow, you're lazy! Plus you can change it easily enough. Oh well, keep on griping, sir.
#40 diamondStar
Lazy to press windows + space? Or just opening input gestures, pressing e to locate the emoji menu and change the shortcut key? rofl rofl.
Really ROFL.
