Can you restate what it is you're trying to get at with this point about weapons? Are you saying that because firearms can only ever be used to inflict damage on others civilian access to them should be heavily restricted?

Okay. So this debate is probably best hashed out on adifferent thread but my rebuttal would be there are circumstances in which inflicting damage to others is justified and necessary, and these occur often enough that restricting civilian access to these weapons perpetuates the harm it is trying to prevent.

I guess maybe some people are too worried about it turning into a fight, me included. But we've seen here that it doesn't have to be. I'll consider it.
