Changes on forum names and another things after a first moderation meeting
Back to Archive of group related things discussions#1 daszekmdn
Hey!
So, we are after a first moderation meeting which took place last friday.
Here's some news about the forum structure changes:
About Integration forum:
Few users have been asking us what the 'Integration' forum is about, as it lacked any description and the name didn't explain much.
It has been created by previous moderation team, so we have decided to clarify and establish its purpose.
The forum called previously Integration, has now been renamed to community discussions. Here we can talk about Life experiences, disabilities, abilities and also share our daily stories.
About the culture forum:
Some have asked us also what is meant by the Culture term in the forum name. It's music, literature, or perhaps also etnic cultures?
We discussed it on the meeting, and here's the explanation:
By the Culture forum we mean everything connected with the culture in general reasoning so it's music, literature, movies, but also traditions and cultures of the world, also some history related things.
About the voice forum:
There were also some concerns (which, to be fair) were reasonable), why it's called a voice forum when it's actually mixed, and the name doesn't really reflect how it work. It's another oversight from the previous administrator, so from now on it's called Mixed forum. To explain how it works, we also added the describtion which inform that here you can both record audio or write text posts.
about the ages:
Some of you have asked us about our stance on the participation of users below 13 yr old in our community, as the main Elten regulations says:
"2.1:
Anyone over 13 years of age can become a User."
As some of you even have a sponsored package here, and this law seems to be dead, until the council of elders will not refer to this and contact us to change our practices, we will not ban anyone due to age.
Not age defines who you are. Sometimes older people being more immature than young, so if you not make any drama here, we will we will treat you as a normal user.
About the English community conferencing channel:
You can find an another thread where we published our statement, called "An official statement about the English Elten community conferencing channel", but also we publishing it here.
Some of you, also reported to us that there were a drama and spam sometimes, so here's our official stance which can be controversial, but we don't see any other way than say it:
As a moderation team, we no longer support the English Elten community channel.
You can not count on any support from us about spam, trolling etc, excepting charrassment and things prohibited by European law, but if something like this occurs, please provide us an audio recordings as evidence.
Unfortunately, none of us have the time to have someone from the moderators available on this channel all day and all night.
Our first idea was to make an recruitment where we can elect to separated moderators of the conferencing channel, but...
Elten not allow to change permissions, ban users on the channel itself, or channel deletion if it's the channel of recommended language group.
We consider this to be unprofessional.
Anyone can enter a recommended language group channel even if they don't belong to it. Therefore, until changes are made, we are stepping back from overseeing the conferences, so if you wanna enter, you doing it on your own risk.
If you need have the control, you can consider the main English conferencing channel like a call channel like on CB radio in 90 and early 2000S, where people met to split into individual channels later.
Thanks for understanding.
If you want, feel fre to discuss about the changes and also our statements here.
