a new game is coming out tomorrow, Executioner's Rage
Back to Games#21 Jonathan Archived
yaqp, and thats exactly what I did, this game is trash guys, I can tell it!
#22 Jonathan Archived
I mean, I could now continue, for example:
1. I can't create an account from the client, so I go to their page to do so, which is half german english because they used some sort of weird service for account creation.
2. The main menu music can't be adjusted.
3. The logo isn't skipable, and so on and so on.
I don't even wanna know how its looking online...

i mean there is so many of the same game out there and so many kinds of games that arn't to well covered so you get fps and that but how many fps games can you get before you are like "oh yay a new fps yipy."
#24 ArcticMoon
Exactly the same experience.
-- (alfi):
I tried this game. It's very confusing for me, the fact that there are a lot of people shooting together and the game lags so much that I can't even move.

you're in newbie zone. if so, o to x 45, and walk south. it should mellow out from there

I tryed this game and I must say, I'm not really likeing it. the steps are server cide so it lags really bad and I died in the safe zone. and if someone chats it stopps my speech and I cant tern that off
#27 alfi
My other problem is that I can only access the chat with an English keyboard, and I use a Hungarian keyboard.

next problem of python...

should make a list of things python games are bad in to throw people in the face who wanna tell me python is good for developing games, because it just is not!
#30 ArcticMoon
OMG yes, feel you. Well even with 20 players online it lags like hell, the chat is unopenable with keyboards other than english, and I could continue on. At first I thought it's only my internet, as it is more than possible when I'm at home, but now I'm in a dormitory in the capital of Hungary, and I usually download in the speed of 60-70 MB/S, so the problem is with the game itself.

python is great for developing games. The bad guys are the developers :D
#32 Jonathan Archived
Maybe, but still there are a lot of simpler and better resources, especially there will be in the future.
And I have many people who agree with me that python is not for developing games, its just not made for this, thats fact!
#33 techboy
I mean that does make sence. there are some games librarys, and most games are in like c++ or something or c, which are probs better

Yeah, C, C++, later also ngt/nvgt when these will come out. I mean of course you can make it in python, when you make it really good then maybe its going to be great, but all these librarys these people use are horrible. I want to remind for example gc, has to be completely rewritten due tunmi, idk, fucked up the code somewhere? idk, COD, the new firegaming game, has reverb but it sounds like for the trash can, the textboxes don't have any thing a textbox should have in 2024 (word nav, pasting, copying, cutting), etc...
You can do it, you can do a lot if you want but the result isn't going to be great. So I am glad, looking back that I haven't even tryed to learn py.
#35 Jonathan Archived
and dude, if even Sam Tupy says so, from what or who else do you wanna hear it...
#36 thespyde
The new version of The Great Toy Robbery from L-Works games is awesome and written in Python, go figure.
#37 Jonathan Archived
okay, I'll check it out. Also yeah, things can be good, it just absolutely depends on the developers and the libs and all that in py.
#38 ArcticMoon
Yeah NVGT, don't joke around please, not funny. It isn't coming out. Never. On the other hand noone is going to know about it, only our little corner of blind people.
Let's clear up a few things here. Sam Tupy is not the god of programming, as well as not any fork of BGT would be the revolution of a new gaming era.
#39 Jonathan Archived
hmm yeah... Well, your opinion... I think different, but we'll see then I guess, or not...

this game is trash, for now.
