I don't know about facetime but I know about beeper mini and it apparently somehow tricks Apple's systems to think that you're phone's an iPhone with legitamit iMessages and stuff

Interesting how a lot of android users want apple apps but not the other way around. Tells something of the app quality hehe. Anyways, why are we far from topic out of a sudden, there are enough android topics for this I strongly believe

I mean, it's perfectly natural for conversations to evolve and shift. Not like we went from talking about Seeing AI on Android to, say, JAWS VS. NVDA. But on your point about app quality though. It's important to consider that Apple is one company that's very specific when it comes to their image and the perception people get when using their products. So they put significantly much greater effort into making their stuff nice. Android is open source remember. They have one or 2 things that are there and the dozen or so Droid companies don't bother to fix them. Samsung tried making their own echo-system like Apple did in the 2010s but eventually struck a deal with Google to phase most of them out.

I don't really trust beeper. its in the mittle end of your messages, which meens if you send a message it goze from your computer to beeper's server's unencrypted and to the person your sending it to. not only that, but you have to let one of their macs into your apple ID

Jesus I was using apple products for 8 years, I know the way the system works.
I didn't even say the app is officially from apple.
-- (Jonathan):
no, would be absolutely against apples logic, should know that if you're just a little bit into this system.
although there may be fakes or thins wich half work, nothing official from apple itself.

I'm one of the android users who doesn't want apple apps at all. I just said it's possible but I don't use them myself. To be honest android also has bugs and such, but I would never switch back to iPhone.

poor jesus, what has he to do with that all now?
Also cool, so you basically say there alternatives, but these are, as I said, any software wich needs access to your apple ID, and I would definitly give this information wich is basically access to my payment methods, e-mail, pictures etc any random app!

a, regular, call? you don't need the camera, you're blind.
-- (khalil2009):
ok what about facetime. I don't want to have to send someone a facetime link just so I can chat with them

#33 khalil2009
facetime sounds better. and they do
#34 Jonathan Archived

#35 ArcticMoon

@32, he may be blind, but this may come as a surprise to you, but his friends might actually, shockingly be sighted. Gasp?
#37 marchoffmann
Well yeah, not just that but to be fair there arn't any good quality alternatives. Idk I got the 14 now but I'll have that for as long as possible, only switched from 12 mini cuz batterie. There's no point in getting yourself a new iPhone, I can confirm it like seriously. Also I'm still on 16.5 xd. And well shocking is the fact that seing AI has been there for yeeeeeeears, actually.
#38 Jonathan Archived
seeing AI is anyway nothing against bee my AI.
#39 GeorgeWu
I don't mind iOS or Android.
I'm now using 17.2. I do encourage anyone update to 17.
#40 ArcticMoon
Well until the battery of an average iPhone doesn't last at least until the end of the day, they have successfully turned me away. Not just with that of course but it was one of the reasons.
