Enable windows shutdown sound
Back to Computers and Technology#1 Jokyboy129
Hello everyone, I finally found a way to enable the Windows Shutdown Sound in Windows 11. All you need is a sound file and a BAT-File I will post. Just run the Bat-file as an administrator, enter te path of the sound file and then click Enter. After that you have to enter your Admin Password. Click enter again.

I don't have a password so it failed.

I know, you need a password. If you do not have one and really want to do it you have to set one.
#4 thespyde
Oh well, I don't want a log-on password.

Very secure I must say.

Agreed, I always have pins and passwords, even biometrics, which is the face ID on my phone.

Who needs a shutdown sound anyway, huh?

Hmm. Windows 7 and earlier nostalgia xd

It's only adding the event to play sound into the scheduler, or whatever it's called.

To post 8, I was being ironic. Someone on here, I won't give any names, said we blind folks like sounds for everything. Now, back to the regularly scheduled topic.

well, don't know how this bat file works, but couldn't you jokyboy to change it for folks without password?

It's not mine. I got it from the Microsoft Support.
#13 marchoffmann
O yes, @post 10 I know who you mean! Lol from the microsoft support?
