I'm now very happy with my trimmer. Obviously because it is a trimmer it doesn't shave completely down to the skin but keeps a slight stubble (0.1 mm), but it isn't that bad

When you're stuck, just try harder.

yes, perhaps the maximum result can be achieved only with creams, for example. and if you don't do it regularly, prepare for some discomfort for a few days.

@41, I thought your signature was apart of your post for a second there.

I use a raser which has switchable blades, which kind of has me asking how often I should change that crap.

Bought a discounted trimmer from Amazon the other day, will be testing it this evening.
It has guards on so what's the worst that can happen? Will definitely need to brush up on my technique though.

I recently tried one of the old fashion jillet blades a few weeks ago. It worked fine and I managed to get everything pretty clean. Just lather up with some soap and aggressively pull down. No cuts or bruises or anything like that.

So let's bring this back to life. I currently have a Braun no idea which model shaver. Great for face, and the trimmer is better than nothing for anything else, but I'm sure it could be better. From what I've filtered out of this topic, I'll take a look at the brand Manscape and the Panasonic ER-GK80S? Anything new/else you've tried? I guess I'll just check them out and see whether I can order one from Amazon...

To be honest, I just use a none electric razor and shaving cream. It hurts like hell sometimes but the skinn gets super smooth. I'm a woman though, it might be more difficult for a man

I use a manual razor as well. It never hurts. Mine is called Gillette Fusion. It has four blades on one side of the blade cartridge and one blade on the other side. The four blades are for quick removal and the fifth blade is for precision. I use that one mainly for touch-ups but also for areas where exactitude is needed.

The plastic glide stuff wears off pretty quickly from the side with the four blades, probably because of the pressure required to remove my stubborn stubble. The fifth blade has none of that and I wish they'd make blades without that glide stuff like they used to. I never needed that stuff on them.

I use cream and it work's well for me in all parts, however, it depends on the skin so, and it just depends what people like etc.

Just as a side note, my wife is German and doesn't shave anywhere.

Lol ok, I don't really know how that contributed to the topic. If she's happy with that then....

I don't think that has anything to do with German women. I just prefer being shaved. The problem with manual razors is that you have to change the blade regularly because an old blade can be quite painfull

I alternate between using this spray cream thing that's kind of like whipped cream in terms of texture and how its applied, and using a manual hand razor. I think its from jillette?

A dumb question perhaps guys, but how do you not get hurt/cut using those manual razors? I only used electric ones and the only experience I have with manual ones is when a sighted person used it on me, usually a barber for that matter.
I simply can't imagine how do you not go about cutting yourself, since electric ones have guards in place, and even when you take that off, I've never cut myself with an electric one, however I prefer the more smooth and clean experience coming from a manual razor, so feeling abit stuck rn, though from your posts it looks like it is doable.

A barber will use a straight razor, which would be truly dangerous for a blind person to use. I would never try using one like that. A manual razor has just enough of the blade protruding, or more than one blade, to accomplish the task. If you aren't careful you can still cut yourself but the cuts are minimal unless you deliberately slide it sideways, asking for trouble. I've cut myself some, but not often.

I dislike the razor burn I always get from electric shavers and the not-so-close experience means you have to shave more often, ugh!

Well yes, and this is why I asked :D Not a fan of shaving every 4 to 5 days, which is basically what I do now with my electric one.

Yep. Charles touched on it. I think you're thinking of razor blades. I don't even think people shave their intimate areas with those
