hey guys so I don't know if this has been asked around here before already or not um but I figured I'd go ahead and ask it because I've actually never made a voice post thingy before so um hello um in your opinion what would you say is the most annoying thing that people do this could probably also be called a pet peeve so like what are your pet peeves what what do people do that annoys you like significantly um yeah just let me know
So, Matthew, I'm actually kind of, you know, curious about your opinion on this, but some of my pet peeves are, you know, people who don't want to even take other people's input into consideration, you know what I mean? And, you know, people who are just, like, blatantly, you know, disruptive, I guess. You don't really have that many as long as you're, like, a, you know, good enough person to where you're not just, like, bragging about yourself and just, like, making other people's days absolute horror and, you know, just, like, stay out of my business and we'll be cool, you know? That's just, you know, my whole thing, though.
Hey, Gabriel. So, um, I'll respond to you first, and then I'll respond to Alden. Um, so, one of the things that annoys me most, I would have to say, would probably be, um, just when people walk around and they chew gum really loudly. Like, you walk around, you'll just be doing your thing whenever you're doing it, and all of a sudden you hear, you know, it's very, very distracting, no matter what I'm doing. And I strongly dislike it. Um, number two thing that really annoys me that people do, would probably have to be, um, there's a certain way that people speak, and I think, honestly, I kind of do it a little bit. And I try not to. Um, but there's a certain way that people speak, and it's super, uh, and of course, when people are joking, it's usually... ...pretty easy to tell. For me, at least. But, when people aren't joking, and their speech is, like, super, um, what would be the word? Uh, arrogant? There's a way of speaking that just conveys absolute arrogance. Like, I am the most, like, I am the superior being here, and whoever you are is really not that relevant because I'm better. Um, and so I really don't like people who have that sort of tone of voice. Um, even though I sort of, I sort of have it, um, so, um, like, without realizing it sometimes. And I think that's probably why it annoys me, because I try not to have that, but I still have it anyways. And, another thing, um, I was at school this morning, and, um, I got a new VI teacher. Temporarily, anyways. And, I was in math. I was in pre-cal, actually. At about, I, you know, I walked in to the class, sat down, and my VI walked in, and I got a new one today, because my other one, who's supposed to be there, basically, our district, they lost somebody, um, and so that person's no longer working there, I think, or maybe they're just sick, I think they had surgery. Um, but either way, my VI, my regular VI, um... Has a lot of students that she's working with right now, and so she couldn't be there, because, you know, her caseload is massive, it's just ridiculous. So she could, like, there's no way she could possibly do what she needed to do. So they hired someone for a while to, um, they hired someone for a while to, uh, make up. And so, she walks in there, and she sits down next to me, and her breath is awful. It's like... Death. It's like, basically, death in the form of a smell. And... I'm very sad I have to deal with that for the next three weeks now. So, uh, yeah, hope for the best as far as that goes. But no, that does annoy me. That is one of the main things that I hate in people. Um, so... And yeah, Alden... Um... Dang. Let's see if I can go back. I'll make another much shorter, uh, thing and respond to you in there.
well matthew can i just say that that was some very very interesting um microphone issue that you were having but yeah no i can kind of relate to that one that one you know it's relatable so yeah pet peeves man some people i guess another one of my pet peeves is like if you know someone has like you know a sort of pet peeve if you will with what you're doing and then just proceed to express the fact that they didn't like what you did for like the rest of the time that you're hanging out with that person you know that's happened before and it's kind of annoying it's just like okay if you don't you know you know if you have an issue with what i did just like tell me and i will stop don't like you know hammer it into my head that oh this was annoying but you know people will be people
Yeah, so, when I was recording a post yesterday, the same thing happened to me, um, and now that I'm on this mic, it apparently is not happening, I tested it, uh, and then it will, just watch. Uh, but, yeah, I don't know, things that annoy me really are, like, people who act like they know more than you, and they really don't, and kind of like Olin said, people that just get up right in your face and just talk and do whatever at you, it's kind of weird. But, yeah. Also pep rallies, I hate pep rallies.
So this is one thing that I don't like that I do myself. This is just a me thing. I don't care if anyone else does it, but I don't like it when I sneeze into the microphone if I'm on a voice chat or recording something like I am right now. I don't like it when I sneeze into the microphone, even though that's something that we can't always control. It just sometimes just jumps out. I don't like it when I do it. It just, I just, it gets on my nerves. I don't like that. I'm sorry, but.
Well, I don't know if this bothers anybody else, but the thing that really annoys me the most about people, especially within the blind community, is when they're really obsessed with text-to-speech voices, and that's literally all they ever think about, or at least it seems to be that way. Does anybody else feel that way, or is it just me? I guess we'll never know.
Greetings! In whatever attempt this presents itself as to make a revitalization to this thread, I am here yet again to kind of share my two cents about this whole I want to know what you feel like thing that a lot of blind people have the tendency to do. First of all, I am very much weirded out by it as a proud blind myself. And I'm also weirded out by the acceptability of it in certain environments. As an example, for those of you who don't know, I go to a school for the blind. Not by choice, but I go there nonetheless. And I was in a group project with this other blind person. Now. And generally speaking, they're not necessarily the worst person to go and be around, I suppose, for most aspects. But this one time, me and this person were doing a group project on some class. I don't know, this was like last year. And out of nowhere. They just start grabbing my hand. And trying to figure out, I suppose, the way I looked from feeling up my arm and around. And I was very obviously uncomfortable with this fact. And I was like, do you mind stopping? In a way that enough people around her. Heard it. But. None of them did much of anything about it. It was very, very strange indeed. It's always been kind of, like, intriguing to me what different people look like. But I'm not going to come up to you and be like, hey. Can I start feeling up your arm real quick? I've never been that type of person. So, yeah. There are my two cents. Enjoy them while they last.
um, I completely agree with the last two posts, um, so, yeah, this one girl at my school, she's also blind, and, like, she tried to touch my face, which I, of course, didn't allow, because, you know, it's kind of invading personal shit, and, um, um, so, yeah, it really, like, it's weird.
