Let's shape future of this group

No, I am not now engaging in any way to replicate any of ArcticMoon's views.
I think at the election campaign stage it was your thoughts that were best portrayed, yet at one point you even answered questions that came up. And that is commendable.
But the skills of an administrator show not when you can make plans, but when you are confronted with other opinions. In this thread, objectively, a wave of hatred, hate and aggression has poured out. And this is no longer OK in any way.
Shoot for the Moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

First of all i have not posted in this thread at all during the campaign. As another thought, i agree, that maybe at some point the candidates(including me) god a bit to engaged. How ever, you should also take into account, that some of us have been dealing with this since over 2 years now. This should not come over as an excuse, rather as a sidenote why some of us may react more agressive to even smaller things, regarding this popular person. I am sure though, that most of us are able to differenciate private views from administrative choices.

Sorry, by "this thread" I mentioned one regarding voting, my misleading.
Shoot for the Moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.
#564 karmien
The petition one or the one about voting? Besides a few exceptions that thread stayed pretty much friendly as far as i am concerned. The biggest exception is, as i said before, 2 folks trying to discredit the poll at any price.

I personally wouldn't have supported any of the candidates, Arctic included, though objectively she was probably the best of the lot. I had the intension of backing Fernando. I know he had said he'd run ages ago but he didn't, unfortunately. I think we can probably give it a try. I don't think the English community is lost, because the time where the forum was without an admin thtings ran pretty smoothly. The main discord was mostly caused by schisms between Arctic Moon and the community. Now we should move on an focus on the future. Forget about Arctic, forget about the last election and lets come together and figure out a valid solution. I think most of fus can agree shutting down the English community isn't that solution, though.
#566 karmien
Didn't you have the idea that every candidate makes a topic for them self where they explain their proposals and are open for questions? In my opinion that sounds like a pretty need solutions.
#567 Sir-Charlie
Yes I was meaning to talk about that but never got round to it. I definitely support that. The candidate makes a thread where they put out their ideas and proposals in the first post then the community gets to ask them questions to gage how they'd handle things. I think this is a much better approach over the debate thing I've been hearing going around. This is a community position, not a political one. We need to know how the candidates, individually, want to handle the community. Not try and make themselves look better than the other guy to get in. We don't need that kind of devisive politics on here. It shouldn't be a popularity contest, but instead a contest of merit.
#568 karmien
i would also be iin favour of this, it allowes the community to ask the candidates question without ending in a completely cluthered thread.

Fernando seems he would be a good administrator tbh. a shame he didn't run
#570 Fernando
I was told something like because your account is fairly recent you shouldn't be considered or something along those lines. I think it was even on this thread
#571 khalil2009
but your towerkiller arent you not? your account was made in back in urly 2022 so I feel like that should be a nuff ttime
#572 Fernando
Yes but this account is from the summer

Honestly, at this point I actually agree in closing the english comunity, however an archive should still be there. Like I said before, either here or somewhere else, smaller, subgroups with different topics of interest may actually be a solution for this, as well as less admin work for everyone.
-- (pajper):
Dear users,
ArcticMoon has decided to resign from accepting the position of administrator of this community. At the same time, the behaviour of the other candidates, among others in this thread, convinces me that they should not be allowed to become administrator in the future. To tell the truth, I considered banning some of the users posting here due to verbal aggression, but in the end I decided not to interfere in the internal affairs of the English community and will leave this issue to the new administrator.
In view of the events that have taken place, however, I have no idea what direction we should now take. I don't like generalising and calling all users childish. Contempt directed at the other side always takes revenge. However, I have no doupts that a person who has repeatedly broken the main rules should never become the administrator of the English community.
That is why I return to this thread and to the discussion of the next step we should take. A certain option, which I am however reluctant to think about, is to close the English community. However, I am open to all suggestions and ideas.
And one more thing. I am not going to play eristic here. If you guys are going to start wars again and insult users, such posts will be deleted and their authors banned.

and if we really want to chat, we can just create are own forums and stuff
#575 marchoffmann
I mean honestly this thing has just been a tocsic playground for months now. And we're sadly not back there in 2017 18 or maybe 19 where it seemed very peaceful and cool here to me, have just not been around.
#576 karmien
That would be a really bad idea and the whole thing would get completely out of sorting for new people. Right now this community can compete against audiogames.net when it comes to size, if we close it that won't be happening anymore.
#577 marchoffmann
Audiogames.net is a completely different thing, not sure why you keep mentioning ag.net all over and over again
#578 karmien
Because in the last years, agnet has basically become the monopol for blind forum. And this is bad, since it should not be that if you get banned in one place you loose all your platform basically. If we have another, equal community this could change. So if we split this up into little groups with like maybe 20 people per group that would end up a complete mess.
#579 marchoffmann
How so. Your audiogames.net also has many topics/sides plus banned people probably deserved their ban. audiogames.net isn't that amazing anyway, unless it's one of blindy kids being in forums 24/7 and having no other
#580 marchoffmann
And keep in mind this is called audio, games. Not comunity.
