We need a spellchecker because seems it isn't active anymore.

I thought the spell checker is a premium feature, unless you mean it isn't active for you as a premium user. I've never had the feature so I don't know.
Anyway, it does sound like some lively debate is going on which may result in some more improvements.

No, you natives don't really get it because you use Eloquence. I meant it ironically. In the first post there's almost no words without spelling errors.

Wow! This is really very big problem with grammar here!
I use Newfon because i am from Russia and my native language is russian. But second time i tried to read all those posts with IBMTTS and it really reads all this bullshitty illiterate stuff so as there are no mistakes at all.

D R A M M A, not D R U M M A.
I S S U E, not I S H U E.
A R E N apostrophe T, not A R N T.

You can consider me a grammar nazi, and may be I am. But at least I respect my own language and try to respect any foreign language that I use. So people, let's be more aware of what and how we write.
There is free spellcheck addon for NVDA which does the job better than Elten premium paid feature. Just write your text in Notepad and use this spellcheck addon there.

As an IBM TTS user I clearly identified all the errors, just sayin'.

@thespyde
how you do this?
For me it sounds like correctly spelled words. Maybe the problem is that i am not a native speaker, but maybe we have different settings.

I also didn't recognise all of them, even if my ears work well, let's be honest. But if you guys recognize your errors, why in the hell do all of you write so illiterately? Not exactly you Thespide, as your spelling is absolutely okay, but others.

It's easy to tell drumma from drama, and I've just learned to listen for errors. I don't know so much about settings being different, but since spelling was one of my best subjects in school, I just hear stuff, more attuned I guess.

@thespyde
I totally understand you, because at school i had good grammar skills too.
And my TTS reads everything as it is, without accents, like you would read a foreign language: just representing all letters that you see without any try to think about stresses, sounds reduction, etc.
Btw english is the same thing for my tts.
if you want i even can record a sample with for example espeak or rhvoice and with my tts.

I know this is off topic, I use IBM EC Library's add-on which fixes a lot of pronunciations With Eloquence.

It's funny how the english comunity complains so much about offtopic and now look at this thread.

I also can't see why make a big sceen over the spelling of words. As if those that do it know better than the rest. I've never seen the point in that. To me, it's like showing off.

Good spelling and grammar are important when you want to get an idea across to someone else or to a group in writing

Agree. Though not a big offtopicness. Even staff would involve theirself in plezently without giving out offtopic warnings, since it's themself who posted along.

But if someone corrects someone elses english in another manner, maybe even a nicer one they get blamed for it. Kinda confusing me but this is not just on elten.

Thespid I heare what you are saying, but as long as people are not criticised as a bad person that should be fine, at least in my view. But in any case, enough said.
