Hey everyone, this is your first post from me, Samuel. I asked this on ag.net and did not really get an answer on how to get started. As I look for more ways to keep me occupied, I have been reading about muds on ag.net, and was wondering. How do I even get started. Is there any setup I need to do on my end? Also, any good mud clients or muds out there? I am primarily interested in space exploration, although other suggestions are welcome. Anyway, that is it from me. Happy gaming to all.

Presuming you run windows as a default, A very common client used by blind people is Vipmud, which can be found at:

As for muds, There is a lot to choose from. Personally, the only games I have played that come close to space exploration are Miriani, Star conquest and Cosmic Rage. They may be worth a look to you. Have fun.

Oh, seems VIP mud is paid. Well, going to have to try to find a free client for now. As for the suggestions, thank you. I will look into those.

Samuel, I'm not fond of cracking programmes but seriously, if you download vipmud2, write anything to the name field and it'll accept the thing as if you had the full version. Sorry but yeah, if a company doesn't fix this for years, it's nonsense.

Oh OK. yeah, not atempting to crack here. After all, I have mostly been using free software, so I wanted to confirm to prevent doing anything crack related.

On the other hand, another mud client, MushZ is completely free.

Where do I find that. Also, to stay on topic for this thread, I have another pressing issue that I feel is worth putting into the games portion of the forum.

Hello, any recommended MUDS to play with?
I mean, I do play cosmic rage, Star Conquest and Miriani, but the thing is, I wan't to try different genres which is still close for RP stuffs, so, could suggest something?
Also, if it has a soundpack, it'll be more appriciated too.

altar aeon is a fantasy based mud without any sort of forced roleplay but a huge lines of quests and other stuf like that, find eq for your char, do quests while enjoying of cool sound design with super changable config and a nice system with setting macrosses, aliases, and other stuf which is surely, allowd!

Mush-z is very interesting client, and for free as well.
The best soundpack has alteraeon and maybe erion, but erion is a little weird mud, sometimes too easy.
