Poor English Community Activity

Hello!

There's no denying that this forum exists rather residually. There are several issues to be clarified here.
I myself am much more active, also in the area of Elten development, on Polish forums. This is due to much greater activity.
On the other hand, the current Elten panorama is like this: lots of Poles and not much else.

The old Klango was also a Polish project, but it didn't change the fact that the English-speaking group was the most numerous, although the Polish group was second after it.
Here, the English-speaking community is almost inactive.

In part, I have my own ideas as to what this might be due to, but first I would like to listen to you.
Please tell me what you think is the biggest influence on this, what changes we as developers and administrators could make, what should be introduced.

Here are my opinions.

Elten's challenge, for as long as I have been here, appears to be it's inability to market itself to english speaking blind users, and or, users in general. This may be because of several reasons. For instance, there is a general consensus on platforms such as Audiogames.net that the need for a social network that caters specifically to blind users is negligible, because mainstream platforms are now more viable than before. Also, for the longest time, Elten has not had an english web page, and, to the extent that I am aware, still does not have a mobile app. This makes it more difficult to find in general.

Also, the proliferation of illegally distributed stolen assets on here are certainly not very attractive. One of the most active groups besides the Elten english community group is an FPS games group. The sharing of clones there are much too common and there is virtually no moderation.

I am not sure how Elten can increase it's user base more effectively, but a more active moderation wouldn't help, pluss a stricter enforcement on what can be shared according to coppyright.

1 thing. Please! Translate the elten webside to english. That would first of all be a huge help for anyone i guess. And second, users are just inactive? idk

There is an English website but it doesn't get talked about enough and I don't know how much work has been done in its development.

I mean, the only thing that website contains is basically some introduction and a download link. It's definitely not fully fledged.

Yeah, the biggest problem is that big communities like the audiogames forum are absolutely against such platforms, hell knows why. Probably a smart programmer genius once told them it's bad and since then they all hate it because what those geniuses say is the Bible.

This goes to the op of this topic. Sorry, but if you don't translate the website to english, don't reply to messages that are being send to you, then you should not wonder about this. I Think this would solve a lot of this stuff, and its not only in the english comunity, its also in other comunitys. I think one of the problem is that the main admins are all polish. If there would be people really managing the project from other countrys, this would fix stuff.

i feel like he'll doesn't read our, typed reply's, which were, very, quick, anyway. First poasting then not writing anything in there anymore. Can't be such a huge deal then

I don't know about you, but even if it has been a long time since I've talked to Pajper, no matter what I told him, he always replied.

There where other thimes where i asked him kind of importand questions, and when he does not want to hear something, he does not hear it. Honestly, this is pissing me off. Hope this is not seen as a personal attack, because it is not ment to be one

Donald has made a sound pheme for Elton, so I asked him to see if it's OK if I can send the sound theme to the developer, and he said yes, and I send it to him, and I didn't get any response back from him, I hope it will be up soon.
That was in the beginning of March.
I also asked him some questions, and report bugs as well, and I also did not get a response from him, but lets go back on topic.

Yeah, inactivity of english-speaking users is the problem here, and it can be like circle which is closed (maybe my english now is very lithuanian :D ), but what I want to say is that new users are more connecting to the network or somewhere which is more active. I really know cases where one of my friends wanted to test elten, but after some tries refused to use it because it's "inactive".
I think that what elten lack is first of all, advertising in some form.
For example, klango, well, it's inactive, but somehow majority of us know about it and I even can read about it and find more than enough information. About elten, well, not really, and if we would take my situation, I also knew about existence of this network from my friend, who is also polish.
So, my points would be advertising and, ful translation of elten webpage which clear statements what is it, it's features and quick start guide would be what new user would like to know I guess.
Not every user is like me, who downloads some unknown program only for testing. They have their own business and sometimes to make something visible, we need to make a pretty anoying advertisement :D
