Anyone who would like to practice with me Russian can freely do so.

Anytime, Fatih and Techboy. Although I'm not a native speaker, but I love practising.

Hey everyone. So I found out that there is a server for speaking and teaching Esperanto and I am now part of it. I have a channel there, created to teach Esperanto to speakers of English. I am planning to start working on that this monday, but that is not certain. Anyone who wants to join me can PM me on Elten or any other platform they use to contact me.

I'm sorry but I must chime in as I'm seeing linguists here. Slavic languages can't be entriguing but only intriguing.

In, deedio!
#152 mohammed
That was an, entriguing, correction.
Lol
#153 mohammed
And this time it was a purposeful mistake btw.

I wholeheartedly agree that Slavic languages are intriguing. They captivate my soul. To put it bluntly, I am in love with them.

This thing's been dead for ages. Here's something new. Anyone knows what language this is?
#156 starchild
that, my friend, is a verry old, verry formal version of one of my native languages karawangan. karawangan is an old, quazi extinct austronesian language, most closely related to tagalog, and more spesificly the bisayan dialect of said language. that said, what you got your hands on there was an exerpt of the unungyawa unofficial acords, that the revered dahan mansane made his life perpous to put into effect. this, however, diddn't work out. I wonder who put this through 11 labs and made it sound so acurat
#157 mohammed
Yes, that's Karawangan. The dialect spoken in the eighteenth century in yoanga mwerto, the region. Eleven labs seemed to catch the phonology of the language quite well which is something I honestly did not expect when I gave it the text
#158 mohammed
Also correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I know the dialect is still spoken in parts of that region until today.

What's the weirdest language you ever heard/know about?
#160 fatih
The weirdest language is a language called whistle tongue. It is spoken by some people in a certaine village in the Black sea part of Turkey. They actually don't speak, they whistle and it is said that this way of communication can be heard from a very far distance, but I heard that it is in the point of extinction right now.
