Hi guys. 1 year ago i got a nice laptop to birthday. It has decent stats, only it's gpu is low but in most ases it does not matter much, and also it is made by hp and has a good mic and enough ports. But theres one problem about it. This things insanely huge. I mean, i can hardly get it into my back, and even if i manage that the psu which is also pretty big kills it. I really like this machine and have no interest in dropping it but i sometimes need something slim that just fids in the backpack for a short trip and which i don't always need my computer back. Some of my family members already use macbooks and also imacs, and also it would not be my first interaction with mac os or apple in general. And if i buy not the newest model (which i don't indent these prices are murderous) i can also run bootcamp on it so if i really need win at some point i can still use it. The only disadvantage would really be that the thing has only usbc and headphones so i would have to find a solucion for that. What do you think?
I have a 2017 MacBook Air and love it. If you get a Mac, the only problem you might have is trying to do Mac commands on Windows and Windows commands on Mac, but I think a lot of people that use both Mac and Windows have done that.
The only laptops which are so damn huge, are the elitebook stuff that I can think of. Yeah, every blindie is so damn fond of them because they have stereo mycrophones. I love HP products, and I have a HP laptop as well, with pretty decent specs. It's a 14 inch one, slim and it fits in everywhere, can even hold it in one hand although I don't really dare doing so. I tried to convince many hungarian fellow blinds that they don't need such a huge mess but they started screaming as soon as they realized it has stereo mycrophone lol
Aggree arctic moon. No, i don't have an elite book, this is a zbook. The thing is, it is really hard to find a compromise between slim and usable. My school wants to give me a really tinn laptop but this thing lags ports. My zbook is giant but has everything from usb to sd cart to even a serial port and a modem cart. This is also the problem about apple though, but adleast they mostly have usbc meaning you don't need usb hubs with external power.
If you want to complete more serious tasks than using a browser, writing documents and eMails, don't go with it. It is horrible for coding. I was using my macBook air 2017 for 3 years and recently when I started coding on it I understood that it is a nightmare.
Hahaha, the story with a stereo microphone is really crazy. I prefer to have a numpad on a laptop, that's so important for me. MacBook doesn't have that, so that's also a minus.
I wouldn't call it the crap, but accessibility should be really improved there, even if I don't use mac on a regular bases now, I continue to send feedback to apple accessibility about the things that can be improved.
hey everyone. having used mac books from my early ages, i can say that i looooooooooooove windows to the max! i could ramble about things that windows does better that mac just can't tuch, or loads of other shit. but if your looking for ultra portabillity, and deecent specs, bruh i got just teh computer for you. when my teacher handed it to me and told me it was her comp, i laughed and said, no way. this shit is fake. but oh no! its packing a core I with 8 to 12 gb of ram and 500 gb of storage. plenty for on bord storage, but not for home use. but that's what external drives are for. anyways, hear is the computer. it is the dell ladatude E 35
guys. whatever you do don't buy the latest macbook air 2020 edition with m1, unless you're not planning to use windows on it. i discovered that the new macbook with m1 doesn't have bootcamp support.
Lool, it is a really good choice to buy mac and install windows on it. And use only windows. I won't say that I didn't use windows on a mac, but I used macOS 50% of time. Sometimes maybe even 70 or 80. But recommending not to buy a new mac due to the fact that you cannot install windows is well, not really funny.
well simter thankfully yu didn't buy that thing. see now I realise why my dad asks me a bunch of times if I'm sure I wanna buy an expensive thing, because of this kinds of shit. I would also use Mac OS but since I need windows this would be pretty horrible.
When you're stuck, just try harder.
