Manage My Account: settings not being saved

I'm trying to make some changes in Community > Manage my account, however when I click apply after making the changes, Elten acts as if the settings were updated, with NVDA announcing "Saved", but a quick check of my visiting card states otherwise. The save button does the same thing. I'm running the very latest version of the Elten client.

Yes. I have noticed this same problem, as well. This also occurrs when trying to set my status

#3

I just changed my signature and it did change.

Mine does not appear to change. I'm wondering if it's a bug or if I'm just doing something wrong lol

#5

Mine seemed to have lots of spaces in the original, but when I changed it to my first and lst names it let me edit out the spaces. Whether or not they came back is another question.

#6

Nope, i just looked and the spaces didn't come back.

That is strange indeed. For me, it doesn't let me set many things. Example, and this is what confuses me even more, it let me set some elements of my visiting card, but others simply refused to set. For example, I can set my birthday, name ETC, but things like location and the general visiting card text just will not set. So I don't know about that one

Strange stuff for sure.

Sure it's weird, but what's the solution? Those who's settings won't save are obviously doing something wrong, since if it was a bug in the client, it would surely affect every user.

This is very true. I've been trying to figure this out, as I know people who have the issue, and people who, obviously, don't. I'm beginning to wonder if it has something to do with a users particular settings, client setup or something in the account itself?

#11

I did think running the client as admin might fix the problem, but that wouldn't really work since all the updates are of course applied server side.

True enough. And for that matter, if a client was not ran as admin, why would only *some* settings save? I thought maybe reinstalling the client if worst comes to worst but not sure.

#13

I have an encrypted key so reinstalling might be more of a pain in the backside than it's worth.

I just reinstalled and that does not appear to fix it. Maybe something in some accounts, a setting as I suspected earlier? Not quite sure.

Thank you for info. I'm working on this issue.

Okay, let me see.

Seems to be working now, though things like country, state and city still won't save.

Yeah noticed that too. City, state, and country don't seem to save. Everything else seems fine though
