Your introduction

All right, greetings. This is just my note of welcome to people who might have joined before. I know I haven't done these in a while. I haven't been near my computer or anything that I could record that on, for that matter, in a while. Um, again, this is, uh, the first part of this message is kind of just to say hello to all of the new members. Hopefully you enjoy your time here on Elton. My name is Gabriel, also known, actually, uh, more commonly known as Starchild, and, uh, yeah, I'm just a person. Um, other than that, I was, I kind of read a couple posts back about the, uh, bombing of the School for the Blind in Kharkiv, Ukraine. And, uh, And I just kind of wanted to say, um, um, someone has to be extremely heartless to, um, intentionally bomb a school that houses people who can't see the bomb coming, or at least have issues seeing the bomb coming. Anyway, with, uh, that note, I'm going to end that off, or end this off, and, um, hopefully everyone has an amazing rest of their day. Thank you.

Hi. I don't think personally that the School for the Blind was the primary target of that bombing. But whatever they were aiming for, often they just bombed civilians, and that includes, of course, blind people then. Whatever they were aiming for, they certainly knew, because you can figure things out there before you bomb something, someplace. They certainly knew that there was a School for the Blind there. So whether they saw it as collateral damage or whether the School for the Blind was just part of the civilian bombing, I don't remember what the target actually was of that bombing. It's too far gone behind me now. But yeah, civilian bombings are particular. They can really harden us through and through.

Hello everyone, uh, SilentSentinel here. So I, in the introduction, uh, oops, sorry, like a year ago, I think I was a little over a year now, but yeah, as you can hear my voice has changed rather a lot as my microphone is set up. I thought I would introduce myself to some of the new members and also because there's been quite a few community changes. Anyway, welcome to everyone. I am somewhat active, that is a major vital keyword, somewhat active, but do message me. I will reply at some point in the next millennia.

why do I feel as if somehow some of the posts in this thread have been removed? Is that just part of the forum tradition to remove anything that violates the status quo, or am I misremembering?

we're putting stuff to the archive in 2022 and prior and is sorry a couple months ago i was trying to clean some off topics from the introduction fred here but i accidentally removed some posts by accident i'm sorry that was a few months back but we are still going to do sorting out soon so yeah

uh just a kind of a quick intermission here what archive exactly are they being added to because i don't see them being added to an archive honestly i just see them being uh deleted so maybe i'm looking in the wrong places but i don't see the posts that and yeah i've been keeping up with the um contact with the administration or um whatever the thread is called threads and group changes there we go and i haven't seen any of them being added to the archive they just kind of got killed

Or we delete, say, I mean, sorry, close an off, close a thread that has been out of date or something. We usually put them in the threads archive. I think that's what you've been talking about.

no george they haven't been talking about that please listen to the previous five or six posts again uh some posts from this particular thread have been nuked uh and there is as far as i know there is there there is no way on elton to archive a post to to move a post from one thread to the other so uh i think something else is going on here and besides um this is just my personal opinion but i think that the archive is stupid as hell like really stupid like if i wanna actually something like a comment to thread even though for example if it's five years old like why can't I do that it doesn't make any sense

Yeah, I'm letting everyone know that we're archiving any of the threads that were untouched prior to 2022, 2022 onwards. And then the reason being is because we're trying to make it a little less cluttery. And, but I will say, if there's anyone that wants me to bring back an archive because they want to, like, post something on that thread, let one of us know and we will bring it back. But we're not going to bring it back if nobody's going to touch it. You know what I mean? So. Like, you have to physically, like, want to submit something for that thread in order to make it a little, you know, and then if that's the case, then we'll bring it back. That's what we've decided. Very simple here, Landon. It says post type, and then you can use your up and down arrow keys to select between a text post and an audio post. If you want to reply someone back with an audio, you just go to audio posts, and then there's a record button. You just click on the record button, and then click when it says record button, and then you hear a ding sound, which means that it starts recording. And then once you're done, you just click stop recording, and then if you believe this is the recording you wanted to send, and if it sounds good, you just hit the ready button, which means that it will save the recording. And then once you're ready to send, you just press the send. So, that's how you can reply someone on mixed forms, but if it's not a mixed form, if it's a voice only form, you just click audio post and do the same steps without having to choose if you want to reply back as text or mixed form. Sorry, text post or audio post. Keep saying form for some reason. Anyway, that's how you can do it.

Thanks, George. That really helps. Now I'm getting the hang of it now. So, uh, yeah. I thought I'd try the mixed forms for a change. Just because I have been using the text form a lot, so I figured why not try this other one. Thank you.
