Hello.
I'm interested in starting creating music/samples with reaper or just try to make. I currently don't have midi keyboard, but it's possible without. What virtual keyboards/synths/instrument packs do you use for that?

Hi.
I suggest to start with free cymatics sample packs and learn how to use rea-samplomatic.
Layering sample over another one, modiffing melodies, making your own drum loops etc etc...
Then go for some vstis...
I suggest vst4free.com and the vst bundle released by @x0 and another one by rwp...

Thank you so much, I'm trying to find some tutorials now.

#4

I suggest to start with reaperaccessibility.com...

#5

Who tried to use artures v collection? It seems that their presets selection window is totaly inaccessible.

#7

Sadly I don't use sfs, but maybe someone else from here can help ya.

#8

Guys, how about accessibility of kontakt? Also, today I downloaded cakewalk dimension2 5gb instrument pack (yeah, If i'm not lieing the same pack which was included to sonar producer), to find out again that it's totaly inaccessible :(

#9

U can partially use kontakt with AHK scripts, yet 95% of contact libs have their interface unaccessible and their parameters unlabeled, so you can load them but that's when it ends.

#10

But then, does it worth it to pay 35 dollars just to find out that?

#11

U can try kontakt player to test.

#12

Yes, I'll do it.

#13

So guys, really, do you know any accessible drum /instruments, ithosara or sibiac. I need piano, violin, drums and guitars.

#14

Nowadays it's certainly difficult to recommend something not having komplete kontrol in mind. Kontakt is partially accessible with that, as well as so many different instruments available in NKS format. As for drums I know addictive drums are accessible but I don't know if it isn't again for NKS compatibility.
SFZ instruments also can be good, you just load a file and it's playing but I haven't lots of them yet.

Yeah, I heart some good things about komplete kontrol. But as I know, I should have some hardware to use all features?

#16

Yes, but you can get the cheapest native instruments hardware possible and you already will have thon of new possibilities. Of course, keyboards from s series have more features than m32 mini keyboard, but even with mini you can use most of the accessibility functions. And that means access not only to NI virtual instruments but also lots of different VST's from other companies wiling to make their plugins in NKS format as well. You get access to arturia, spitfire, output, air... and many many others. Of course different instruments to different extend but still.

Spitfire labs are cool, .rpl exists.

#18

Hm, but after buying hardware do I need specific mods or something to native kontrol to be accessible? But you know, I think I'll buy something then.

Thank you. Informative.
