Youtube browser has been removed. At the same time, interfaces has been created to expand media support in Elten, so far only on blogs. Youtube has been made available as a separate program and can be downloaded in the rightplace. Warning! It will not work with earlier versions of Elten!
Just installed Elten 2.4 beta 49. I also installed Youtube. After the first time, I was asked to reinstall it. After I did, it was good. Seems to work normal up till now. Download and installs by sixes percentage.
Nice work! Keep it up! I enjoy the YouTube app, especially the way you can customize your downloads. BTW, I've got no problems with the Elten-NVDA-Addon and Braille extender enabled. I'm running the latest development version of Braille extender.
Yes, it's great; and there is no waiting time anymore when you download something, as there used to be before. I feel a little bit sorry for those that are not running the beta versions of Elten.
Well you got a point there! :D There is a German group now and so far, no one except the admin and I, as a moderator, are a member, but nevertheless, I just made a topic about 48 and 49, because I forgot to do it when 48 came out. Mind you, 49 was a very quick one.
Ah, I know what you mean now with no waiting while downloading. It's when you want to play the video through Elten directly. Obviously, there is waiting time when you download it as a file.
Yes, but what I meant is playing it right away without downloading. It used to be you had to wait for minutes before you could play a file, most of all a video file. That's not the case any longer.
Ah yes, when you click on a video. It would take ages to "connect to the server", because it downloaded the video into a cache, but now, it just takes you right to that dialog where you can choose what to do, and there's just a few seconds of wait when you press play. Figuring out results takes longer than before though.
As Google refused to extend our quota, we're now using unofficial API. Noone can tell how stable it would be, that is. It is possible that some day Google decides to change it. But, as Youtube is now a separate app, I will be able to fix the issue without releasing new version of Elten.

How that? It does not work with older versions, you said so yourself! Or do you mean that you can just release a new version of the app to reinstall in our current beta supporting it?
I mean I'm able to release it without releasing new version. For example, imagine the situation one or two years later, when, for example, Elten 2.4.3 is stable version and the work on Elten 3.0 is in progress. So I'll be able to update this app, without issuing updates separately to the beta and stable branch.
