As an experiment I tried switching to another voice, then back to use screen reader voice. Whatever voice I switch to, when I switch back to screen reader, nothing happens, so that option no longer works for me at all.
In the Polish community testers group, it has been reported that those who are using a sapi 4 voice with the NVDA Elten add on are experiencing problems with the Elten add on.
Ah yes, Charles, see Pajpers post please. As of beta 46, NVDA doesn't work anymore without the add-on. It's really no problem to have that add-on around, because it really makes it better, especially for braille users. And it shouldn't make NVDA misbehave in any way now. As I said, in beta 13, the most unnerving problem I had with it was fixed.
Karl, I Installed the add-on and have beta 46, and I still have the problem above described. In addition, I get the prompt to install the add-on every time I start Elten. So, in my experience, it does not work either way.
Maybe it is an outdated version of the addon? Or did you install it from beta46? I don't know why you got this problem, because on my side, all's good, and sluggishness is gone for me since this beta. Maybe it's sluggish for you because those microsoft voices are sluggish in general.
Well I am using Windows 10 with the Windows kor voice Mark and Elten is not sluggish at all with this voice. It's not that I am defending Windows kor voices at all, I'm just writing what I am experiencing.
I don't have access to the Windows One Core voices in Elten. Even if I did it wouldn't remember my settings and would try using the screen reader's voice and wouldn't be able to, even with the add-on. Oh well, beta 45 it is for me.
No, that's true. But you have to go to the Windows kor one voices with the NVDA screen reader. In other words said, you have to change the voices in the NVDA settings menu.
I have both options, using a Screen Reader and Use a selected SAPI5 Synthesizer. I noticed that when Elten says the time on the hour, it uses the SAPI5 Synthesizer even though I have it set to use a screen reader.
hi their, when i try to open settings in the program, i get the folowing error: ELTEN dialog Critical Error C0000005 at address 76EFA630: is anyone else getting this error?
If this goes on, you should uninstall Elten and then reinstall but do not update or uncheck the checkbox to update the latest version in the install wizzard and then launch Elten and then update.
