Unfortunate yet right. The Turkish voices also come with their own bugs. And then there are those weird pronunciations that you have on iOS. I suppose this is the situation for many languages. They have some dictionary sort of thing that they update from time to time to make things even worse. And you can't find its entries in the VoiceOver dictionary. So it's some inaccessible thing that only they can control. And there's no option to disable it entirely, which I would go for. So demanding that single voice everywhere like insane is also quite annoying for me but commenting on things that one doesn't know about, is yet another annoying thing. -- (ArcticMoon): No, we can not ban people, only administrators are able to do it. Enes, it's even more embarrassing that this guy is whining because of a single arabic voice, even though he would have a lot of other options to consider using. I can imagine the Vocalizer voices are buggy for arabic as well. But you know, all of us are able to deal with these bugs. The hungarian Voccalizer isn't any different. It contains a lot of hilarious and serious bugs, but we must use it if we have an iPhone because there's nothing else. It's just the same for you, dear arabic speakers. It's just how life goes. If you want a specific voice and it's paid, invest in it, it's that easy.
let me tell you. Most if not all arabic speaker use acapela infovox3's cracked version in their computer. I once had the same feeling that he's having right now, yet I use cracked vocalizer. Maybe, one day, just maybe there will be a good free arabic voice that pleases most people, microsoft one core's voices fail to do that because of their slowness and the fact that that they skip some words and they have a lot of glitches -- (ArcticMoon): I agree, Zvonimirek. We would need an administrator for it though, due to the fact that noone from the moderation team is able to ban people.
not everyone is able to pay, I'm one of the people who can't pay for anything, and thuss I'm forced to use cracked software. Same for a lot of people, and most probably that guy yousef, even if he's projecting his current state a little too much, and in a forum where most users don't have anything to do with arabic. I.e, use the arabic espeak! Yes! It's the best thing on earth! Lol I'm not making fun of anyone in here, just the actual sentence -- (ArcticMoon): No, we can not ban people, only administrators are able to do it. *wispering*. Hey! Can you please send me a tutorial on how to get the voice? I don't need it like vitally, but just for fun and experimentation. You can send it in arabic if you prefer. -- (usuf): forget it!, I found the voice.
I think he might have just sarcastically told us to ignore his request rather than informing us that he truly got the voice. -- (dragma13): *wispering*. Hey! Same here. Fixed prices make things more difficult when you have high exchange rates and the prices are just converted according to your local currency instead of being determined by taking into account the average purchasing power in any country. And an average family in Turkey or any other developing country, has to manage their budget more strictly. So the following situation applies more to hardware or devices for the blind, as one may purchase software from anywhere, but obtaining devices from abroad requires one to pay the shipping fee or have someone there to go pick it up and bring it to him/her. And things may also get problematic if you purchase a device from abroad and then want to fix its problems or repair it in your own country, as my Braille Me, for which I had to wait for months. And be it screen readers or any other product, those redistributors that localize and sell stuff, always increase prices way more than they should. So I unfortunately have to use cracked versions of many apps and games. I still purchase iOS apps or devices but I can't do that for everything. As for TTS in particular, chances are; 1. You have paid voices in your language made by well-known companies like Nuance or Acapela, or the global giants like Google or Microsoft. 2. You have voices made by volunteers or otherwise provided at a lower price or for free, which in turn lack natural and/or clear speech and/or responsiveness, or even cause you to format your computer like that Teknoses I mentioned earlier. 3. You may have good voices but they may be intended for use in certain cases, on a certain operating system or with certain software. 4. None of the above, where you don't even have one single voice to use your devices in your own language. -- (dragma13): not everyone is able to pay, I'm one of the people who can't pay for anything, and thuss I'm forced to use cracked software. Honestly if you have the budget for a braille display, you have the budget for nearly everything. It's the same situation in Hungary as well but since such devices are awfully expensive, I don't buy any of them.
the thing is we didn't had to buy ours by ourself, we got it from school but your point is still true. If i wouldn't be in school i wouldn't even have one for sure, just because i don't really need it except for school purpices and reading with speech is very fast anyway. So fast that sighted people have much to read while we read the stuff in a few seconds if we talk about long messages. Lol
here, braille displays are considered ancient sacred relics left by an ancient civilization long ago. As a result, the price of an(imported from abrod) one is equal to half of a price of an average car
I am from Russia. Our situation is very similar to what has already been described here. The only difference is that Russian-speaking users have RHVoice. It's a really good free synthesizer that many people are happy with. If it wasn't for it, I don't even know what I would use. People appreciate this synthesizer for its abundance of voices, good vocabulary, and fast response time. On Ios I have to use Vocalizer, which has a lot of problems with the Russian language, I definitely do not like it, but I have no choice. As for braille displays, I will say that we just recently signed a law that allows blind children under the age of 18 to get them. It is planned that eventually anyone will be able to get a display, but I don't think braille displays will be popular, because every year fewer and fewer people learn braille.
