okay, with emo she means she listens to sad music, likes black clothes, etc. Although I wouldn't call her an emo, she listens to sad music but doesn't like black clothes. She always says she's an emo mostly as a joke, but she does enjoy sad songs.

Oh, I thought emo isn't fashionable anymore?

If anything it's the opposite. There's a large segment of young people who built their central defining personality trait on being emo and depressed lol.
