Woaw! Thank you for putting this guide here! It really helped me out to sort out some things! Hope that they'll improve accessibility for iOs or maybe I will better understand now how it is used on iPhone.

Is eSpeak always used as a speech synthesiser to anounce channel messages or it's possible to change it?

I assume it uses your system voice.

#24

I understood how it works actually. The voice depands on a language that you chose as the discord interface language. I wanted to use discord in English but then I cannot read russian incoming messages with that tts, for English the only voice I have is eSpeak. When I installed russian as a discord interface language microsoft voice that I have in preferences started talking.

Any updates about the iphone app? Asking because I have a friend with iphone and he wants to try discord on his phone. I have android, so can't help him much... :D

#26

Wel, I don't know how to use the iphone app two.
And that, is why you shouldn't do this.

#28

It's actually not bad on Android. I only found one unlabeled button and that is the Menu button.

#29

True, it's almost perfectly accessible...

#30

Woaw!
Well actually there's nothing to be surprised about because it is another example that accessibility of android apps became better than on iOs.
That's really bad that it's happening about iOs really...

Hmm, just because one app is more accessible on android than iOS, it doesn't mean iOS's death. When the whole system will be more accessible, I might give it another try. But until then I stick to iOS.

#32

Well, there are lots of examples when that happens, it is not only with discord. But this is another topic really

hello,i'll download discord right now, sorry for reviving the topic

#34

no problem, if you need some help you can pm me.
And that, is why you shouldn't do this.

I am on blind lounge community of Discord. I am using Canary client.
Ja volim samo kafu sa Rakijom.

#36

I have diffrendly, I can't find any servers on discord
<3 :* <3

#37

I don't use discord very often but that is simply because the blind comunity just doesn't want to switch to discord, wich in my opinion is much safer and better than teamtalk.
And that, is why you shouldn't do this.

#38

I think they don't want to switch because they think it's not accessible.

#39

Well its not that, its just the UI. Its kind of web like, and while that's not the problem, teamtalk, unlike discord, isn't as difficult and confusing to navigate. Can't speak for team speak users though. Never used it.
Learn to appreciate what you have before time makes you appreciate what you had.

#40

true, but if you just spend some time on discord you will just learn navigating in time.
and also, I really hate the idea that teamtalk administrators can just se your ip and boot you off line if they wish.
And that, is why you shouldn't do this.
